The UFC announced today that Carlos Prates will face Michael Morales in the co-main event of UFC 336 on January 30, 2027, for the Interim Welterweight Championship. Islam Makhachev is the current UFC Welterweight Champion, but the promotion decided to make an Interim title fight after he was unable to compete at UFC 336. UFC 336 is being held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at Scotiabank Arena.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Prates opens as the favorite at -175, with Morales as a +145 underdog. 

Currently, Prates is ranked No. 2 in the UFC’s Media Panel Rankings, with Morales at No. 3. Prates is on a three-fight winning streak and has scored knockouts over two former UFC Champions, Jack Della Maddalena and Leon Edwards. In the UFC, Prates has a 7-1 record with seven knockouts. Meanwhile, Morales is undefeated at 19-0 with 15 finishes. Morales has won three straight fights by first-round knockout, beating Sean Brady, Gilbert Burns, and Neil Magny.
