We’ll continue rolling tonight with a short two-game slate that features the 76ers hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7 PM ET. The Nuggets will visit the Thunder to close out the night at 9:30.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the action this evening in Pick6 Fantasy Basketball! This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for tonight’s slate. We simply choose whether a player will record more or less of the set statistic. Here are my favorite plays for today’s action.
Jamal Murray More than 5.5 Assists
Murray enjoyed a career-year last season and put up career-highs in multiple stats, including PPG, APG, RPG, FTA, 3PA, 3P%, and FG%. Six assists is a reasonable ask for Murray, who averaged 7.1 APG last season and reached that mark in all three appearances against Oklahoma City. He finished those matchups with 12, six, and six assists, although one included overtime. The 12-assist performance came on a rough 4-for-16 shooting night, showing that he could still generate offense through his passing when his own shots weren’t falling.
With Nikola Jokic alongside him, Murray has an established partner in Denver’s two-man game and multiple ways to contribute as a creator.

Tyrese Maxey More than 23.5 Points
Philadelphia added plenty of star power, but Maxey still had lots to do in the opener. He scored 28 points against New York, taking 19 shots and nine free throws in nearly 40 minutes despite sharing the floor with LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, and Joel Embiid.
Maxey also went just 2-for-9 from beyond the arc, so his scoring wasn’t propped up by a hot shooting night. Cleveland could be missing Jarrett Allen, who is questionable with a knee injury; his absence would give Maxey one fewer interior defender to worry about when attacking the basket. The combination of playing time, shot volume, and trips to the stripe makes 23.5 an appealing target. The most important factor, of course, being playing time. Many assumed that Maxey’s minutes would be scaled back due to the Sixers’ roster changes, but it appears that Maxey is in for another big workload this season.

LeBron James Less than 7.5 Assists
LeBron has plenty of teammates who can finish his passes, but he also has several who can create offense themselves. That shared responsibility was evident in Philadelphia’s opener. James finished with seven assists, while Brown and Embiid contributed six apiece and Maxey added five. James played nearly 34 minutes, so the result came with a substantial workload. One game doesn’t establish his new baseline, but it does give us an early look at an offense that can run through several different players. I’m anticipating that the Sixers will find ways to manage James’ workload until the postseason, and surrounding him with talent that can playmake is a great way to do so.
