When Do VisionQuest Episodes 5 and 6 Come Out on Disney+?

Midway through the season, VisionQuest has fully committed to tying together as many aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as possible. On top of completing the trilogy that started with WandaVision and Agatha All Along, the latest MCU show is pulling plot points and characters from Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger and Avengers: Age of Ultron. And as we surge past the midpoint, who’s to say the artificial intelligence-focused story won’t somehow set the stage for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

If you are dying to see how Vision and his pseudo family manage a growing list of supervillains, here is everything you need to know before VisionQuest Episodes 5 and 6 drop:

When do VisionQuest Episodes 5 and 6 come out?

Episodes 5 and 6 of VisionQuest will premiere on Disney+ at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, October 27. Episode 5 is reportedly about 46 minutes long, while Episode 6 is expected to come in around 54 minutes. The episodes are titled “Firewall” and “Deadlock,” respectively.

Marvel has utilized multiple release strategies when it comes to Disney+ shows in recent years. Wonder Man was a binge drop back in January, while both seasons of Daredevil: Born Again have released episodes weekly. VisionQuest is going to release two episodes in each of its first three weeks on the air, then give Episodes 7 and 8 their own weeks to breathe.

(Warning: Spoilers for VisionQuest Episode 4, WandaVision and Agatha All Along ahead.)

Who will show up this week?

A major comic book character who fans had been waiting for finally showed up in earnest in Episode 4, further expanding the cast. There are a few more waiting in the wings, though, including holdovers from 2008’s Iron Man and maybe even a recasted synth from Captain America: The First Avenger who could pop up in the upcoming batch of VisionQuest episodes:

  • Paul Bettany as Vision
  • James Spader as Ultron
  • Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff / Thomas Shepherd a.k.a. Speed
  • T’Nia Miller as Jocasta
  • Lauren Morais as Lisa Molinari a.k.a. Coat of Arms
  • Todd Stashwick as Paladin
  • Diane Morgan as The Handler
  • Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y.
  • Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H.
  • Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E
  • Jonathan Sayer as U
  • Faran Tahir as Raza
  • TBD as Jim Hammond / The Human Torch

What to expect in VisionQuest Episodes 5 and 6

Vision finally came face-to-face with Jocasta – a synthezoid modeled after deceased artificial intelligence creator Josephine Carrington – and was unable to overcome his limitations in a direct fight. For one, most of his weapons systems were still offline following his run-in with Paladin and his adamantium bullets. He was also stuck protecting his somehow-son Tommy, complicating his feelings and priorities during the bout. As a result, Vision gave in and handed the reins of his body to the last remaining sliver of Ultron. The murder-bot killed Jocasta’s target, Katerina Wells, to rob the synthezoid of her leverage in the situation.

With Wells dead, Jocasta fled. We don’t know what else she has up her sleeve, especially since her mission of knocking off the board members of Markridge Biotech under the guise of the Butcherbird Killer is complete. Jocasta had the same “peace in our time” mantra that Ultron did in Avengers: Age of Ulton, so there could be a connection there beyond their similar looks. And speaking of Ultron, he has now locked Vision and the other AIs in the Mindspace while calmly taking Tommy hostage in the real world.

Paladin didn’t show up in Episode 4, but there’s no way we’ve seen the last of him. We still don’t know who Paladin’s mysterious patron is, since Jocasta wasn’t the one who hired him after all. We got even more direct allusions towards Jim Hammond – the original MCU android, also known as The Human Torch, who apparently combusted when he couldn’t handle human emotions any longer. Don’t be shocked if there’s a bottle episode or extended flashback that dives even deeper into J.I.M. and his inventor, Phineas Horton. The Human Torch was at the 1942 Stark Expo where Steve Rogers met Dr. Abraham Erskine, so revisiting that could be in the cards.
