The Traitors: New Blood is heating up. Episode 5’s murder in plain sight ended up eliminating Niyyah the following week, with major ramifications across the castle. Two of our three Traitors have seen their names mentioned, with Tomica becoming a target during Episode 6’s Round Table. As for the Faithfuls, suspicion and heightened tension have sent this group into a spiral.

Biggest Risers
Victor (+6)
There weren’t a ton of standouts this week; this has been a sloppy game for most parties involved up to this point. No player is more emblematic of that than Victor, an early target in Episode 1 that has done himself little favors since then. Suspicion towards the New Yorker hasn’t died down completely; Michael is still banging the drum towards voting him out. With that being said, Victor has done a decent job of laying low and observing his surroundings. That came to a climax during Episode 5’s murder in plain sight, in which he grew wary of Joe and Tomica’s fondness for apples.
Victor’s hunch is on the money; Joe ended up flipping an apple to the now-departed Niyyah. Still, the rest of The Traitors cast has been skeptical to embrace this new theory. It’s easy for viewers at home to grow frustrated. However, half of the battle on this show is presenting yourself as someone others can trust. Victor has acted sketchy, usually unintentionally, all season. With that being said, he’ll be taken far more seriously if the rest of the castle follows his lead. The only issue? He might not live to see another day in Scotland. Joe admitted that Victor is “smarter than he looks”; getting rid of him now could save the Traitors.
Biggest Fallers
Joe (-4)
Not a great week to be a Traitor. Tomica garnered a vote from Victor (more on her later). As a result, she’s in the most jeopardy of this trio. However, I think there’s a compelling argument to be made that Joe is playing the worst out of anyone from the Turret. His decision to pick Katie over Xavier was already questionable, without much upside up to this point in the game. She’s already in tears about her new deceitful role; it’s fair to wonder if she can handle the burden of being a Traitor for an entire season.
Ultimately, the biggest gripe with Joe comes from how he handled the murder in plain sight. His apple toss towards Morgan was suspect, at best. He was fortunate to get it right with Niyyah, but that came at the cost of losing one of Tomica’s closest supporters. In a game as cutthroat as this one, you can’t afford to lose any loyal Faithfuls. Now, Tomica is without her number one ally just as her name is beginning to swirl around the castle. As a result, Joe could eventually find himself on the chopping block.
Tomica (-11)
Stock plummeting for Tomica this week, even if the rest of the castle hasn’t caught on (yet). As previously mentioned, Victor has correctly pinned two of the game’s three Traitors. His biggest target at the moment is Tomica, who did herself little favors at this week’s Round Table. Her deflections came off as somewhat dismissive, and throwing a stray vote Victor’s way seemed like a defensive (perhaps a bit petty?) gameplay move. Prior to these last two episodes, I thought the Boston native was playing a far better game compared to her fellow Traitors. However, all it takes is one accusation to potentially tank someone’s chances.
All hope is not lost for Tomica. There are several other juicy targets up for grabs, although most of them are Faithfuls. However, I can’t help but think the best way for her to duck the pressure is to throw a bone towards her other players. It can’t be Joe, since the two original Traitors are complicit in Fruitgate. That means pointing the finger at Katie, who went from a primary target to someone flying under the radar. Does she have the guts to make such a dramatic, last-ditch power play? I’m skeptical.
