As the league with the most parity among the four major American sports leagues, the NFL’s 2026 season is off to a shocking start. Of the eight teams that won their division in 2025, only two lead it so far in 2026.
The Carolina Panthers, who claimed the NFC South on a three-way tiebreaker last season, hold a half-game lead over the Atlanta Falcons atop the division. On Sunday, the Panthers will travel to face another 2025 division winner in the Philadelphia Eagles, who trail the New York Giants by 1.5 games in the NFC East. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
Carolina is a three-point road favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook (-166 on the Moneyline), with the point total set to 39.5. Philadelphia is +140 on the Moneyline without quarterback Jalen Hurts, who was diagnosed with a blood clot earlier in the week.
Below, I’ll break down my favorite prop bets from tonight’s matchup, focusing on one player from each team.
Panthers vs. Eagles NFL Player Prop Bets
DeVonta Smith 60+ Yards (+103)
Before suffering a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Eagles’ Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and Week 5 defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, Smith was on pace for a career-best season, recording 117 receiving yards in Week 2 and 65 in Week 3. However, he’s off the injury report and expected to return today, so if he’s anywhere near his typical form, Tanner McKee shouldn’t hesitate to throw it to him, especially with Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, and Will Shipley all out. He’s been the league’s fourth-best wideout by Pro Football Focus’ standards this season, making five of his six contested catch opportunities, so McKee, who’s made just two turnover-worthy plays in his two career starts, shouldn’t even have to be that accurate.
This season, the Panthers have had roughly a league-average secondary, allowing the 11th-most yards per game. Although Carolina was solid in Weeks 2 and 3, it faced Cooper Rush and Deshaun Watson in those games, and in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions, it allowed at least 60 to each of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Isaac TeSlaa, three receivers who have been worse than Smith by PFF’s standards. The Panthers will continue to be without two-time Pro Bowl corner Jaycee Horn, who’s limited opponents to just a 69.8 passer rating this season. Even a hobbled Smith should have no trouble getting his against Akayleb Evans, who was hunted mercilessly by Detroit.
Chuba Hubbard Anytime TD Scorer (-110)
Hubbard has taken advantage of Rico Dowdle’s offseason departure, as he has already found the end zone five times in four games, three on the ground and two through the air. He had 20 carries for 122 yards and two scores in the win over the Lions, and he should be the focal point of Carolina’s offense again. Hubbard has accounted for nine of the Panthers’ 37 snaps inside the red zone (seven carries and two targets), but given his efficiency with his opportunities, that could rise. He’s ranked as football’s sixth-best running back, according to PFF, and he ranks fourth in rushing yards over expectation per attempt. Hubbard is a threat to score from close range or break one off, as he’s tied for the seventh-most 15-plus-yard breakaways.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia has had a pretty mediocre run defense by its standards. The Eagles have allowed the 10th-most rushing yards and three scores to opposing running backs, three to quarterbacks, and one to a wide receiver. Plus, per PFF, Philadelphia’s best run defender, safety Michael Carter II, will miss this game, allowing Hubbard more room to operate up the middle of the field. The Eagles have also missed the second-most tackles. Plus, despite mediocre seasons from Cooper DeJean, Andrew Mukuba, and Riq Woolen so far, each of those players is intimidating enough to dissuade Bryce Young from throwing.
