NFL DFS Picks: Best DraftKings Fantasy Football Plays for Week 6

NFL DFS Picks: Best DraftKings Fantasy Football Plays for Week 6

Published:

By: Stan Son

Three games have point totals under 30. None of them feature Brock Purdy. But there are also three games with totals over 50. Many of those players are expensive, so you’ll need to be thrifty. There won’t be much salary that’s discretionary, so navigating the minefields and completing the puzzle could be what elevates the legendary.

We’ve got 10 games on Sunday’s main slate. Five of them have a three-point spread or less on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Rams are the only double-digit favorite, 12.5 over the Cardinals. Four games have a total of at least 45 points, with Buffalo-Las Vegas being the highest at 53.5. Three games are tied for the lowest total at 39.5 points: Baltimore-Cleveland, Pittsburgh-Tampa Bay, and Carolina-Philadelphia. There are six home underdogs.

Quarterback

Stud

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals ($6,400) – Stafford leads the NFL in completions, attempts, passing yards and first downs. He’s thrown over 50 passes in three straight games, but all those contests were close. The Rams will likely control this one; the 12.5-point spread is the highest on the slate, so Stafford likely won’t get much volume. That said, he should still throw around 30 passes. In LA’s Week 2 blowout win over the Giants, he needed only 31 passes to throw for 327 yards and four touchdowns, for a season-high 31 FPTS.

Arizona has allowed the NFL’s most passing touchdowns (14) and highest yards per reception (14.3), while ranking 31st in opposing passer rating (117.2).

Other Options – Josh Allen ($7,500), Drake Maye ($6,600), Caleb Williams ($6,200)

Value

Tanner McKee, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Carolina Panthers ($4,000) – McKee has only started two games and appeared in six total contests with the Eagles over two seasons, so the sample size is small. Still, he completed 61.4% of his passes for 597 yards, five touchdowns, and only one interception. He’s 6-foot-6 and 231 pounds, with a classic dropback QB build. His arm strength, touch and decision-making are all solid, but pressure affects him, as it does with most quarterbacks.

That said, Philadelphia has an inconsistent pass rush and has generated just six sacks, tied for the fourth fewest in the NFL.

Other Options – Bryce Young ($5,700), Aaron Rodgers ($5,500), Kirk Cousins ($5,400), Jameis Winston ($5,100), Michael Penix Jr. ($5,000), Cam Ward ($4,800), Tyler Huntley ($4,700)

Running Back

Stud

Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles ($6,300) – This slate has some studs worth paying up for, but I lean toward Hubbard’s volume and price. Over the last two games, Hubbard has carried 19 and 20 times, dominating the snaps at running back (84%). Hubbard has posted double-digit FPTS in every game, with two performances over 20 FPTS. In Week 4, he finished with 28.9 FPTS. Bryce Young has been solid under center, and the Panthers now have two legitimate weapons at receiver, which keeps the box unstacked and the chains moving.

The Eagles have allowed 118 rushing yards per game and 4.0 opponent yards per carry. They’ve also surrendered seven rushing touchdowns, tied for the third-most in the NFL.

Other Options – Bijan Robinson ($8,700), Kenneth Walker III ($8,500), Derrick Henry ($8,200), Jonathan Taylor ($8,000), James Cook III ($7,400), Kyren Williams ($6,800), D’Andre Swift ($6,700), Ashton Jeanty ($6,500)

Value

Cam Skattebo, New York Giants vs. New Orleans Saints ($5,800) – Skattebo has finished with double-digit FPTS in only two of five games while averaging a paltry 3.6 yards per carry. This could be his breakout game, though, as New Orleans has one of the league’s worst run defenses. The unit has allowed 148.8 yards per game, 4.9 yards per carry, and the most rushing touchdowns in the sport (10). Jameis Winston also looks comfortable under center, so the team should maintain drives and create scoring opportunities.

Other Options – Rhamondre Stevenson ($6,000), Tony Pollard ($5,400), Dameon Pierce ($5,100), Blake Corum ($4,800)

Wide Receiver

Stud

Drake London, Atlanta Falcons vs. Chicago Bears ($7,000) – With Michael Penix Jr. back under center, London has caught nine, five, and seven passes, converting them into 31.4, 14.6 and 21.8 FPTS. This game has an inflated total of 51.5 points and a tight 1.5-point spread, so it could be a back-and-forth affair.

The season-long numbers favor the Bears defense, as the unit has generated plenty of pressure. That said, Chicago has allowed the NFL’s 11th-highest opponent passer rating (97.7) and got eviscerated last week by Jordan Love for 367 yards and two touchdowns.

Other Options – Puka Nacua ($8,100), Tetairoa McMillan ($7,300), Zay Flowers ($7,100), DeVonta Smith ($6,900), Davante Adams ($6,600), Malik Nabers ($6,500)

Value

Cody White, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Buffalo Bills ($3,200) – With wide receiver injuries, White’s snap share has jumped from the teens to 62% over the last two weeks. He got four targets in each contest. Despite being overshadowed by star tight end Brock Bowers, White will be on the field, and that’s half the battle. The Bills will likely score, forcing the Raiders to respond aggressively.

The matchup is solid, as the Bills’ pass defense has been one of the worst. They’ve allowed the NFL’s seventh-highest completion percentage (66.7%), the fourth-most pass touchdowns (13), and the sixth-highest passer rate (105.7).

Other Options – Jalen Coker ($5,900), Josh Downs ($5,800), Luther Burden III ($5,400), Khalil Shakir ($5,300), Dontayvion Wicks ($5,100), Carnell Tate ($5,000), Keon Coleman ($4,900), Tre Tucker ($4,700), Wandale Robinson ($4,500), Darius Cooper ($4,300), Makai Lemon ($4,100), Germie Bernard ($4,000), Kendrick Bourne ($4,000), Rashod Bateman ($3,900), Kalif Raymond ($3,900), Efton Chism III ($3,500)

Tight End

Stud

Isaiah Likely, New York Giants vs. New Orleans Saints ($4,800) – Likely has garnered 12 and 13 targets over the last two games, converting those into 13.6 and 32.4 FPTS. Winston looks comfortable in the Giants system now and is obviously looking for his matchup nightmare. New Orleans has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to the position.

Other Options – Brock Bowers ($7,500), Travis Kelce ($5,500), Pat Freiermuth ($4,400)

Value

Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Carolina Panthers ($3,900) – Uncertainty remains about how targets will be distributed with Tanner McKee under center. At least we don’t have to worry about him taking off on a run. McKee could latch onto Goedert, especially since Carolina has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points to tight ends.

Other Options – Hunter Henry ($4,000), Kyle Pitts Sr. ($3,700), Darren Waller ($3,600), Tyler Higbee ($3,400)

Defense/Special Teams

Stud

Chiefs DST vs. Los Angeles Chargers ($3,600) – Playing in Arrowhead is tough enough, but the Chargers now have to play with a makeshift offensive line after losing both starting tackles in Week 5. Kansas City is tied for the league-low four sacks this season, but Steve Spagnuolo has them blitzing consistently. Justin Herbert has been sacked 17 times, the second-most in the league.

Other Options – Rams DST ($3,800), Patriots DST ($3,500), Steelers DST ($3,300), Ravens DST ($3,200)

Value

Giants DST vs. New Orleans Saints ($2,800) – Tyler Shough has been sacked 13 times, tied for the eighth-most. He’s also thrown five interceptions. New York has recorded only eight sacks, but the unit blitzes consistently. The Giants have forced eight turnovers — tied for sixth-most in the NFL — with six interceptions.

Other Options – Saints DST ($2,600), Panthers DST ($2,500), Titans DST ($2,300)

More on this game

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
