NFL DFS Value Picks for Week 5 on DraftKings

Would you like to win a million dollars? I know I would. I could use that money to buy the patent for insulin one million times — famously what it was sold to the University of Toronto for in 1923 by Canadian heroes Frederick Banting and Charles Best.

But enough of the history lesson. Let’s talk about the future, which I’m sure involves you making a couple Milly Maker lineups on DraftKings for Week 5’s action.

Let’s run through the slate and make outline a few possible value picks.

NFL DFS Value Picks: Best Cheap DraftKings Plays for Sunday in Week 5

QB Jameis Winston, New York Giants at Washington Commanders, $4,800

Last Sunday was pure Jameis. You want to talk about a gunslinging performance? How about three touchdowns and two interceptions with an average depth of target of 11.3 yards? That’s the kind of aggressive, high-ceiling approach you should be looking for at the QB position in big DFS tournaments. Winston finished the contest producing 0.61 FPTS per drop back, which was the fourth-highest mark of any quarterback in Week 4, trailing only C.J. Stroud, Drake Maye and Lamar Jackson. Now, Winston and the Giants offense will get to go up against a Washington defense that is surrendering the second-most FPTS per game to opposing pivots. The Commanders have also conceded at least three passing touchdowns in three of their four contests this season. What a matchup this is on paper.

RB MarShawn Lloyd, Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears, $4,800

After all the hype and helium that MarShawn Lloyd got in the weeks leading up to season-long drafts, the returns have been anemic. However, this might finally be the week that the former third-round pick comes through for owners — especially in DFS where his price tag has fallen below $5,000. First and foremost, this is an amazing matchup against the Bears, who rank 30th in the NFL in defensive EPA per opponent rushing play and 28th in opponent rushing yards per attempt (4.9). Secondly, the Packers’ backfield will be a little less crowded heading into Sunday, as Chris Brooks (ankle) is dealing with an injury that kept him out of practice all week long. Lloyd already garnered 33 snaps in Week 4, nearly twice as many as Kaleb Johnson ($4,600). If that disparity continues, along with Lloyd’s involvement in the passing game, there’s an actual path to success here. Just remember, the floor is pretty low, too.

WR Isaac TeSlaa, Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals, $3,400

This is a complete flier, but there’s a method to my madness. Let’s begin by understanding the Lions’ offensive concepts. Detroit utilizes 11 personnel on 64.4% of its offensive snaps — the seventh-highest rate in the NFL. It doesn’t get cute about these three wideout sets, either. It’s Amon-Ra St. Brown ($7,900), Jameson Williams ($5,900) and TeSlaa on the field. Tay Martin ($3,000) and Tom Kennedy ($3,000) have combined for only three snaps in 2026. So, we know TeSlaa is going to get his opportunities. We also know he’s been trending up the past couple of weeks, culminating with eight targets and 95 receiving yards in Week 4’s loss to the Panthers. TeSlaa is a big play threat. He’s dripping with upside. Among all wide receivers with at least a 50% snap share this season, TeSlaa’s 20.8 yards per catch is the second-highest mark. Now, we’ll see how that ability translates against a Cardinals secondary that is allowing a league-worst 8.6 yards per opponent pass attempt. I’m excited.
