Updated Friday, October 2 at 11:40 a.m. ET. This board will be refreshed as Sunday injury news and late-week DFS analysis develop.
Looking for NFL DFS chalk plays for Week 4? This Buzz Factor board tracks which players are gaining the most attention across current public DFS analysis for Sunday’s main slate. It does not automatically make them the best plays or the most-rostered players, but it shows which names the DFS industry is collectively spending time on before lineup lock.
Buzz Factor measures the volume and breadth of public DFS discussion around a player. It is not a projected roster percentage. The board is built from current public DFS analysis and excludes subscription-only tools, pure projections pages and syndicated content.
Week 4 NFL DFS Slate Pulse: Games drawing the most attention
| Game environment | Buzz level | Why it matters for NFL DFS |
|---|---|---|
| Jaguars at Bengals | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Slate leader | The highest-total game on the main slate is producing interest on both sides. Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Lawrence and Parker Washington are all appearing in Week 4 DFS analysis. This is the clearest game-stack environment before Sunday. |
| Patriots at Bills | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 High | Buffalo has one of the slate’s highest implied totals. Allen, Cook and Kincaid give DFS players multiple ways to build around the Bills offense. The debate is more about which Bills pieces to use than whether Buffalo is in play. |
| Cowboys at Texans | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | The matchup is gaining traction as a less-obvious passing-game target. Stroud, Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens create several stack paths. It is not drawing the same attention as Bengals-Jaguars, which is part of the appeal. |
Week 4 NFL DFS Buzz Factor board
The Bengals-Jaguars game is generating the clearest early-week stack conversation, while Bills-Patriots, 49ers-Broncos and Cowboys-Texans are producing several of the other recurring names.
Quarterbacks
| Player | Buzz Factor | Why the buzz is building |
|---|---|---|
| Joe Burrow, Bengals | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Red Hot | Bengals-Jaguars carries the top total on the main slate. Burrow has 489 passing yards and five touchdowns across his past two games. Jacksonville’s tough run defense is pushing analysts toward Cincinnati’s passing game. |
| Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 High | The affordable quarterback in the slate’s most-discussed game environment. Lawrence is tied for fifth in passing touchdowns with seven. His rushing touchdown upside raises his ceiling in Jaguars stacks. |
| Josh Allen, Bills | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 High | Buffalo owns one of the slate’s highest implied totals. Allen has scored two rushing touchdowns in each of his first three games. His ceiling remains a centerpiece of Bills builds against New England. |
| C.J. Stroud, Texans | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Dallas has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. The Cowboys-Texans game offers a cheaper passing-stack path. His appeal rises if Houston gets more receiving help cleared for Sunday. |
Running backs
| Player | Buzz Factor | Why the buzz is building |
|---|---|---|
| Christian McCaffrey, 49ers | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 High | His workload and touchdown equity keep him in the elite running-back discussion every week. Denver has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs. San Francisco is favored at home. |
| James Cook, Bills | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 High | Cook has 346 rushing yards through three games. Buffalo’s expected positive game script supports his volume. He remains a popular way to access the Bills offense without paying for Allen. |
| Aaron Jones, Vikings | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Jones has handled 40 of Minnesota’s 46 running-back carries in the two games without Jordan Mason. He also caught five passes last week. Miami has been one of the friendliest matchups for running backs. |
| Jeremiyah Love, Falcons | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Love handled 21 carries last week while Tyler Allgeier had two. He added five catches and a touchdown. His salary has not fully caught up to the expanded role. |
Wide receivers
| Player | Buzz Factor | Why the buzz is building |
|---|---|---|
| Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Red Hot | Chase has averaged eight catches, 86.5 receiving yards and 25.65 DraftKings points across the past two weeks. He has three touchdowns in that span. He is the premium stacking piece in the slate’s top game. |
| Parker Washington, Jaguars | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 High | Washington owns a 28.4% target share and 73.7 receiving yards per game. He has two receiving touchdowns through three games. His role makes him a popular value attachment to Jaguars stacks. |
| Tee Higgins, Bengals | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Higgins has averaged 81.3 receiving yards per game. He owns a 22.3% target share and nearly a 45% air-yard share. He offers a second Bengals stacking path behind Chase. |
| Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seahawks | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Smith-Njigba has opened with 122, 155 and 128 receiving yards. He owns a 37.5% target share. Seattle-Los Angeles is gaining traction as a different high-end passing build. |
Tight ends
| Player | Buzz Factor | Why the buzz is building |
|---|---|---|
| Dalton Kincaid, Bills | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 High | Kincaid leads Buffalo tight ends with 14 catches, 263 receiving yards and a touchdown. He gives Bills stacks a lower-salary path than the wide receivers. His role benefits if New England focuses on limiting Buffalo’s outside weapons. |
| Mike Gesicki, Bengals | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Gesicki has scored twice in three games. He is functioning more like a big slot receiver than a traditional tight end. The Bengals-Jaguars environment gives him tournament-stack appeal. |
Week 4 NFL DFS fringe board
These players are appearing in public DFS discussion but have not built the same broad early-week momentum as the names above. They are useful to monitor as injury news and Saturday content reshape the slate.
| Player | Buzz Factor | Why DFS writers are discussing him |
|---|---|---|
| Dak Prescott, Cowboys | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Houston has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Prescott has two high-volume stacking partners in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. The Cowboys-Texans total keeps the game in the tournament conversation. |
| Braelon Allen, Jets | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Allen is expected to take over the lead-back work with Breece Hall sidelined. Chicago has allowed 5.09 yards per carry. New workload news can turn an early-week value into late-week chalk quickly. |
| Bhayshul Tuten, Jaguars | 🔥🔥🔥 Building | Tuten has handled 43 of Jacksonville’s 73 running-back carries. He is averaging 4.74 yards per carry. The Bengals have allowed 4.46 yards per carry to running backs. |
| Brock Bowers, Raiders | 🔥🔥 Fringe | Bowers posted 116 receiving yards in his season debut last week. He commanded a 39.4% target share in that game. Las Vegas may need volume through the air while chasing Kansas City. |
How to use the Week 4 NFL DFS Buzz Factor
A high Buzz Factor does not mean a player should automatically be in every lineup. It means that player is receiving widespread attention, which can help identify potential NFL DFS chalk plays, popular stacks and spots where the field may congregate.
Use the board as a read on the slate, not as a ranking. If you agree with the public case, it can reinforce a player’s appeal. If you do not, it shows which game environments and player archetypes are likely to be popular, allowing you to build differently.
How the Buzz Factor board is built
The board reviews current, publicly available NFL DFS analysis published for the Sunday main slate. Repeated player discussion, game-stack coverage, salary-based value arguments and injury-driven role changes can all raise a player’s Buzz Factor. Subscription-only tools, projections-only pages and duplicate coverage are excluded.
- Are the Bills a must-add Week 4 fantasy defense against the Patriots?
- Should fantasy managers still start Bucky Irving in Week 4 if Baker Mayfield is out?
- Is Brock Bowers already the No. 1 fantasy tight end heading into Week 4?
- Should fantasy managers panic about Brian Thomas Jr. and drop him before Week 4?
- Is Kirk Cousins a Week 4 quarterback streamer against the Chiefs?
NFL DFS chalk plays FAQ
What are NFL DFS chalk plays?
NFL DFS chalk plays are players expected to be popular because of their salary, role, matchup, injury-related opportunity or recent performance. A popular play can still be a strong one. The key is understanding how much of the field may be building around the same assumptions.
Is Buzz Factor the same as projected ownership?
No. Buzz Factor tracks public DFS discussion, not projected roster percentage. Strong editorial attention can lead to popularity, but pricing, late injury news, contest type and lineup construction can all change actual roster rates.
