Davante Adams had a monster game last week with Puka Nacua sidelined. Nacua is expected to miss a second consecutive game, meaning Adams will be the WR1 again. Adams had eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants. It was Adams’ highest receiving yardage total since 2021. While the yardage was eye-popping, the touchdowns were par for the course for Adams.
Last season, Adams led the NFL with 14 receiving touchdowns. While Nacua was the Rams’ top receiver, Adams was the go-to target in the red zone for Matthew Stafford. With Nacua out, Adams is assuming both roles for the Rams. He has a great chance to score another touchdown in this game in primetime.
Will Lutz More Than 1.5 Field Goals Made
Will Lutz knocked through two field goals last week at home against the Jaguars. In Week 1, the Broncos’ offense repeatedly stalled out against the Chiefs and only ended up with 10 points. They looked more comfortable at home last week in the win against Jacksonville. However, the Denver offense still has some issues. The Broncos rank 25th in the NFL in red zone touchdown percentage this season. They are only converting red zone trips to touchdowns 42.86% of the time this season.
The Rams have a tough defense that should do a good job of keeping the Broncos out of the end zone. That should lead to a couple of field goal attempts for Lutz. Between last season and this season, Lutz is 31/35 on field goal attempts. He should knock through any attempts he gets and clear this number.
Jaylen Waddle Longest Reception More Than 19.5 Yards
Week 1 was a poor showing for the Broncos’ offense. That led to a disappointing Denver debut for Jaylen Waddle. Waddle more than made up for that in Week 2. He led the Broncos with eight catches for 138 yards against the Jaguars. Waddle had 10 targets in that game, while no other Bronco had more than four targets. Bo Nix should look to Waddle early and often again this week. The Rams’ defense played great last week, but this unit did really struggle to stop the 49ers’ passing attack in Week 1. They rank 17th in the NFL in defensive dropback success rate.
Waddle is the deep-ball threat that Nix has been missing. Last week, his longest reception went for 49 yards. The Rams are always going to get theirs on offense, which means the Broncos will have to be more aggressive on offense to compete in this game. Sean Payton should draw up a couple of deep shots for Waddle in this game. He should be able to take one for at least 20 yards.
