Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres, $10,500 — Yamamoto will be making his final tune-up start before the postseason, and both these NL West teams still have plenty to play for with playoff seeding still up for grabs. Yamamoto has gone 14-8 with a 2.51 ERA and 3.28 FIP this season, racking up 178 strikeouts across 179 innings. He has averaged 23.0 FPTS per start this season, and 25.6 FPTS over his 10 starts since the All-Star break. In those 10 games, he has an impressive 1.98 ERA, and 0.79 WHIP.
Yamamoto is coming off back-to-back excellent outings against the Reds, earning 35.4 FPTS and 32.0 FPTS while allowing only one total run across 14 innings with 17 strikeouts. He has also had success against the Padres this season, allowing three runs on 11 hits across 20 innings while picking up 22 strikeouts and averaging 26.9 FPTS per start.
He brings a very high ceiling in these MLB DFS Picks today, and he is a great stud to build around as an anchor this Wednesday night.

Ethan Pecko, Houston Astros at Seattle Mariners, $5,000 — The Astros will give the ball to rookie Ethan Pecko against the Mariners on Wednesday after getting a 7-0 win in Seattle on Tuesday to tie the Rangers at the top of the AL West standings. Pecko has a 3.77 ERA in his 28 2/3 innings in the majors this season, and he has 19 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings.
Despite his low strikeout production, he has been able to work very effectively lately, allowing just one earned run in each of his last three outings, while working a total of 15 2/3 innings. He had 16.4 and 17.0 FPTS in his last two appearances even though he didn’t get a win in either outing.
Pecko is in a good spot against the Mariners, who have struggled all season at the plate. Even with three games at Coors Field, they have only scored 17 runs over the last week, hitting .211 as a team. The Mariners also rank in the top 10 in the MLB in team K% and have the third-worst wOBA in the MLB this season. Pecko has been used out of the bullpen and as a starter, and the versatile righty makes a critical start for Houston this Wednesday, bringing good potential upside at just his $5,000 salary.

SS Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres, $5,200 — Betts has been on a tear for the Dodgers coming down the stretch, and the veteran should be in a good spot to back Yamamoto in the Dodgers’ big game against the Padres. Betts is hitting a blistering .366 in September, going 26-for-71 (.366) with eight doubles, six homers, and a .502 wOBA. Over those 18 games, Betts has produced 13.6 FPTS per contest.
All season, Betts has hit well at home, with a .365 wOBA at Dodger Stadium. He is in a solid matchup in Wednesday’s home game, taking on Robbie Ray ($7,500), whom he is 4-for-12 with three walks and two home runs against in the past.

3B Caleb Durbin, Boston Red Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians, $3,100 — Durbin is still available at a cool price at the hot corner for the Red Sox, and he has been back in the groove over the last few weeks. He’s had a very streaky first season in Boston, but over his last 13 games he is 13-for-39 (.333) with three doubles, a home run, and three stolen bases. He’s up to 13 homers and 20 thefts on the year, and he is a good value while putting up those big-point events.
Over his last 13 contests, he is averaging 8.1 FPTS per contest, and he has 5+ FPTS in five straight and eight of his last nine. He and the Sox will face lefty Foston Griffin ($8,200) on Wednesday at Fenway, putting Durbin on the strong side of the splits and setting him up as a great potential value in our MLB DFS Picks today.

Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros at Seattle Mariners, $5,700 — Alvarez is one of the frontrunners for AL MVP and he’s showing exactly why coming down the stretch by carrying the Astros’ offense. Yordan smashed his 41st homer of the season on Tuesday, going 2-for-4 and posting 23 FPTS in the Astros’ victory.
Over the last seven games, Alvarez is 10-for-24 (.417) with two doubles, three homers and a .568 wOBA. He has a 65.2% hard-hit rate and 21.7% barrel rate over that short sample size and is entering the mode where he is almost impossible to get out. Alvarez is a proven clutch performer, and he’s doing the job for the ‘Stros again coming down the stretch. He is 6-for-24 (.250) in his career against George Kirby ($8,300), with a double and a home run. He has the potential to single-handedly carry Houston’s offense, and it looks like he’s gearing up to do exactly that over the last few days of the season.

Brandon Nimmo, Texas Rangers vs. New York Mets, $3,300— Nimmo had a pair of hits on Tuesday night, with 8 FPTS against his former team. While he isn’t the offensive force that Yordan is, he is also trying to help push his team to the AL West title and is coming down the stretch with some good momentum. Nimmo is hitting a solid .284 in his last 21 games with four doubles, a homer, and a stolen base. He’s been hitting in the heart of the order for the Rangers, usually batting cleanup, which gives him nice run-production potential.
He has hit safely in six of his last eight games, going 9-for-32 (.281) with an average of 6.9 FPTS per contest. Nimmo is a solid value option in my MLB DFS Picks today as he looks to help his new team to the playoffs at the expense of his former team from New York.
