Gomes attempted a takedown right away but only briefly got Won Il to the ground. But then Won Il landed a few massive punches. Gomes responded with a ton of offense of his own. Won Il scored a knockdown towards the end of the round.

After being badly hurt in the first round, Gomes came out and scored a takedown in the second round. The action was stopped twice for a low blow, but the fight eventually continued. Gomes did enough to win the second round. It is likely tied 1-1 heading into the final round.
