Last Seen premieres Wednesday, September 9, on Apple TV, with two episodes introducing Patrick Brammall as a father awaiting news of his missing daughter. He’s been waiting 11 years. When a teenage girl’s emergency call reaches him at work, he believes he’s finally heard from her.
Brammall plays Ian Ridley, who has left detective work behind for a job as a police dispatcher. He has never accepted that Maggie might be gone forever. Now he has a caller to find, and he intends to bring her home.

Apple’s preview of the premiere has Ian trying to get a look at a body found in the woods. Christian Schwochow, who directed The Crown and Munich: The Edge of War, is behind the camera for all six episodes.
Ryan David Jahn originally gave this story to a small-town Texas dispatcher named Ian Hunt. In his novel, The Dispatcher, Maggie calls seven years after her disappearance. Writer Kris Mrksa has taken Ian to Victoria, Australia, for the adaptation, changing his surname to Ridley and leaving him another four years to wait. Filming took place in Victoria, too.
Mrksa wrote Requiem and The Murders at White House Farm before taking on Jahn’s book. He and Schwochow also executive produce, with 60Forty Films, the company behind Apple’s Hijack and Slow Horses, producing the series.
Last Seen casting details
Brammall will be familiar from Colin from Accounts, although Evil is on his résumé as well. He has Maxine Peake alongside him, coming off Say Nothing, and Brendan Cowell, whose recent television work includes Dune: Prophecy.
Daniel Henshall, Zahra Newman, Jessica Wren, Tobias Muhafidin, and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes round out the announced cast. Henshall appeared in Mickey 17, Newman in Thirteen Lives, and Wren in Mr Inbetween.
