Shohei Ohtani More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Shohei Ohtani is having a slightly down season at the plate by his standards. By normal standards, Ohtani is still one of the best hitters in baseball. He ranks inside the top 20 in batting average, OPS, home runs and RBIs this season. Against right-handers, Ohtani is batting .297 with a .954 OPS. Ohtani has also been much better at home, sporting a .990 OPS when playing in Los Angeles this season. Ohtani is also red hot currently, with a 1.185 OPS over the past seven days. He should register an extra-base hit in this game against Bryan Woo. Woo has a 6.52 ERA away from home this season. He has been all over the place the last two months, giving up at least five earned runs in four of his past eight starts. Ohtani is 3/6 with a home run in his career against Woo and should have no problems against him tonight.
Manny Machado More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Manny Machado has seemingly lost a lot of his control at the plate, with his .216 batting average being by far the worst of his career. However, Machado still possesses the power that has made him one of the best hitters in baseball over the past decade and a half. He has 23 home runs, 64 RBIs and 56 runs scored this season. Machado is also playing his best baseball of the season over the past month, and even more specifically the past week. Over the last 30 days, Machado has a .995 OPS. Over the past week, he is batting .407 with a 1.021 OPS.
Machado should keep his bat hot against Robbie Ray and the Giants. In 22 career at-bats against Ray, Machado has three home runs, resulting in a career OPS of 1.111 against Ray. Robbie Ray is having a decent season, but has not been as good away from home. Outside of San Francisco, he has a 4.35 ERA this season. Machado has scored a run in nine of his past 10 games, and should keep that going to get over this mark tonight.
Michael Busch More Than 0.5 Hits
Michael Busch should be in for a good game against the Cardinals today. Andre Pallante has really struggled against lefties this season. Left-handed hitters are batting .271 with a .734 OPS against Pallante. Pallante has also been much worse when pitching at home, with a 4.48 ERA at Busch Stadium in 2026. Pallante has already made two starts against the Cubs this season. Across those two games, Busch has three hits against Pallante and four hits in total. That makes Busch a preposterous 7/9 with two home runs in his career against Pallante, equaling an OPS of 2.334. Busch should, at the very least, register a base hit in this game against an opponent he has crushed in the past.
