The Brewers (66-40) enter Tuesday with the second-best record in baseball this season. Milwaukee has molded itself into a legitimate World Series contender, potentially challenging the Dodgers for National League dominance. As for the Giants (45-61), wins have been hard to come by in The Bay. San Francisco will be looking to pull off an upset this evenign in front of its home crowd. Which of these clubs has the advantage this evening?
The Brewers are favorites (-156) over the Giants, with the over/under set at 7.5 runs. Below, I’ve laid out my preview, prediction, and best bet for Tuesday’s showdown between Milwaukee and San Francisco on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Brewers vs. Giants pick, best bet today
- Brewers -1.5 (+118): Henderson shouldn’t have much difficulty against San Francisco’s all-or-nothing lineup. The same can’t be said for Roupp against a pesky Milwaukee offense. The Brewers are set up nicely tonight with the superior pitcher and group of hitters.
Brewers vs. Giants prediction, preview
In a sport filled with talented youngsters, Logan Henderson stands out. The 24-year-old doesn’t have the largest sample size, but he already looks like a rotation mainstay in Milwaukee. Through 38.1 innings (eight starts), he’s delivered a 3.05 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 47 strikeouts (11.0 K/9). A look at the righty’s peripherals should have Brewers fans salivating. He ranks within the 80th percentile in xERA (2.88), xBA (.213), strikeout rate (31.8%) and walk rate (4.7%). That level of command (1.6 BB/9) is extremely rare in most pitchers, let alone a relatively unproven arm such as Henderson.
Milwaukee’s hurler will hope to keep the good times rolling this evening at Oracle Park. The Giants, despite their reputation as a pitching-oriented team, haven’t been that bad at the plate this season. The team is seventh in batting average (.252), seventh in slugging (.416) and 15th in OPS (.724). However, they only rank 26th in runs scored (439) and 27th in on-base percentage (.308). That’s not ideal when facing a control freak such as Henderson; generating traffic on the base paths could prove difficult for San Francisco. To make matters worse, notable hitters Casey Schmitt (knee), Jung Hoo Lee (elbow) and Matt Chapman (abdomen) are all dealing with injury issues.
As for the Giants, it’ll be Landen Roupp making his 21st start of the season. The right-hander comes into this one having allowed three earned runs over his previous 21.0 innings pitched (1.69 ERA). On the season, he’s accounted for a 3.93 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 113 strikeouts (9.2 K/9). The 27-year-old places inside the 88th percentile in average exit velocity (86.6 MPH), barrel rate (4.1%), hard-hit rate (30.1%) and ground ball rate (52.0%). However, he’s at the 30th percentile with a 9.8% walk rate. Roupp, for all his success in 2026, has a lackluster 3.7 BB/9 ratio.
If there was ever a team that could exploit shaky control, it’s the Brewers. The squad is fourth in on-base percentage (.336) and second in walks per game (4.09). Despite placing last in baseball with 98 home runs, Milwaukee is fifth in runs scored (535) due to elite contact and plate discipline. In theory, an offense that relies more on bat to ball than power skills could take advantage of Oracle Park’s cavernous dimensions. When he last faced the Brewers on June 1st, Roupp surrendered eight earned runs over 4.0 innings pitched.
Best Bet: Brewers -1.5 (+118)
Henderson has been fantastic as a rookie, and today’s matchup doesn’t look too imposing. The Giants aren’t complete pushovers on offense, but their inability to generate walks will make getting baserunners incredibly difficult tonight. It’s a completely different story for the Brewers at the plate. Their knack for getting on base could frustrate Roupp, a pitcher that can struggle with his command. Keeping that in mind, back the visitors this evening.
