Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves at New York Mets ($10,800) — At age 37, Sale is still pumping the fastball at an average of 96.1 mph. The FIP is 2.61 with a 23.9% K-BB%. He’s only allowed eight home runs in 111 innings. The average exit velocity against is 87.5 mph with a 5.7% barrel rate. New York is 13th in strikeouts, 22nd in ISO and 26th in wOBA with Juan Soto, who is now on the 10-day IL with a left calf strain. I am sold on Sale.

Michael King, San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies ($8,400) — With the Yankees, King was sporting a K-BB% above 20% with a FIP in the two-to-three range. Since arriving in San Diego, the K-BB% has decreased every season, settling in at 11% this year, while the FIP has gone up to 4.04. All that is for naught as he gets the Rockies away from Coors Field. On the season, King has gone over 20 FPTS seven times with a high of 34.2 FPTS.

Chase DeLauter, Cleveland Guardians at Cincinnati Reds ($3,800) — DeLauter is slashing .282/.352/.447 with a 9.9% walk rate and 14% strikeout rate. He has 11 home runs, 35 runs, 50 RBI and five stolen bases in 372 plate appearances. The average exit velocity is 91.1 mph and he’s been batting third in the order. Now he gets to hit at Great American Ball Park, which is ranked second for left-handed home runs. In addition, Brady Singer is getting the nod for Cincinnati, and he’s allowed a 5.25 FIP and 15 home runs to lefties.

Jake Cronenworth, San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies ($2,700) — Cronenworth is the unsexiest of unsexy for fantasy baseball. The ISO is .080 and he’s slashing .217/.318/.297. That said, over the last six games, he’s put up at least 6 FPTS in all with three outputs of double-digits. Michael Lorenzen is allowing a 6.15 FIP to lefties with a 5.7% K-BB%. Lefties are slashing .348/.411/.622 against him with 12 of the 16 home runs allowed.

Jasson Dominguez, New York Yankees at Chicago White Sox ($3,500) — The switch-hitting Dominguez is only slashing .226/.261/.393 with an average exit velocity of 87.9 mph and barrel rate of 5.3%. The bat speed is 74.4 mph, though, and the BABIP is only .254. In 177 plate appearances, he has six home runs, 17 runs, 14 RBI and six stolen bases. Against left-handed pitching, the ISO is .172. Anthony Kay has struggled against righties this season, posting a 5.89 FIP and 5.2% K-BB%. 12 of the 14 home runs allowed have come off the bat of a righty.

Steven Kwan, Cleveland Guardians at Cincinnati Reds ($3,100) — Kwan is not having a good season. Always known as a high-average batter with a sprinkle of pop and dash of speed, Kwan is slashing only .248/.351/.308 with just one home run and seven stolen bases in 392 plate appearances. Things got so bad that he was moved down to ninth in the batting order. He’s been back at leadoff for the last seven games due to his current heater. Since June 28th, a span of 23 games, Kwan is slashing .384/.471/.493. Sure, the BABIP is an elevated .412, so he won’t be able to maintain this production forever, but he’s clearly feeling good and is locked in right now. Over that span, he’s failed to produce fantasy goodies only once, with eight games of double-digits.
