With Argentina and France potentially headed for a World Cup Final rematch, the Golden Boot race may come down to the final match. It is worth noting that a tiebreaker is settled with total assists, and Mbappé leads Messi 2-1 in that category.
Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, who will face off on Saturday for a spot in the semifinals, come in at third and fourth respectively. Haaland’s sixth and seventh goals knocked off Brazil and tied him for the top spot before Messi reclaimed the lead. Kane isn’t far behind with six goals, and England’s status as the favorite in that contest gives him a good chance at surpassing Haaland.
After that, we get into the true underdogs. Mbappé’s co-star, Ousmane Dembélé, has four goals this tournament and has put together some explosive goal-scoring performances. Mikel Oyarzabal, who leads Spain with four goals, is tied with Dembélé at +5000.
