Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies prediction, pick for MLB on Monday 7/06/26

Colorado opens this Dodger Stadium set at 37-54, 15-29 away, and last in the NL West. Los Angeles enters 59-32, 29-15 at home, and already 5-2 against Colorado this season. The Dodgers have won seven of their last 10 with 13 HR, a .282/.369/.457 slash, and 4.19 ERA. The Rockies bring a noisy counter, with 18 HR, a .293/.367/.549 slash, and 46 runs across their last five games. That keeps the game from becoming a simple Dodgers run-line spot. The matchup still starts with Colorado’s pitching problem. Below is my preview, prediction, and pick for today’s baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Dodgers vs. Rockies prediction, preview

Kyle Freeland gives Los Angeles the central scoring target. He is 2-7 with a 7.25 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, 77 IP, 105 H, 68 K, 18 BB, and 16 HR. That works out to 12.3 H/9, 7.9 K/9, 2.1 BB/9, and 1.9 HR/9. His batted-ball card is just as dangerous: 90.8 mph EV allowed, 43.6% hard-hit, 10.6% barrels, .491 xSLG, and .360 xwOBA. He leans on a 91.4 mph four-seamer, cutter, curve, changeup, and sweeper. Eric Lauer has gone 6-0 in Dodgers outings, but his full-season line still includes 17 HR, 11.4% barrels, and a .345 xwOBA.

The Dodgers’ lineup has the right shape for Freeland’s contact profile. Shohei Ohtani brings 93.4 mph EV, 52.0% hard-hit, 15.8% barrels, and a .409 xwOBA. Andy Pages adds 16 HR and 63 RBI behind him. Freddie Freeman gives Freeland no left-on-left relief, carrying 90.8 mph EV, 46.3% hard-hit, 11.6% barrels, and a .392 xwOBA. Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernández, Kyle Tucker, Max Muncy, Tommy Edman, and Dalton Rushing extend the stress. Teoscar’s return restores right-handed force after a hamstring absence. Smith’s IL stint lowers the catching slot, but Rushing still adds lift at the bottom.

Colorado’s offense creates the main objection to a Dodgers spread bet. Hunter Goodman leads the Rockies with 27 HR and 51 RBI, plus 91.5 mph EV, 46.6% hard-hit, 17.3% barrels, and 19.0-degree launch. Kyle Karros just hit the go-ahead three-run homer Sunday and carried a .357/.444/.586 June. TJ Rumfield had three hits Sunday, while Troy Johnston, Ezequiel Tovar, and Jake McCarthy add contact and speed. Lauer’s Dodgers form has improved, but his homer rate leaves Colorado live for a crooked inning. That is enough to separate Dodgers scoring from Dodgers margin.

Rockies vs. Dodgers pick, best bet

The late innings still favor Los Angeles’ team total. The Dodgers bullpen owns a 3.65 ERA, fifth on the board, with Tanner Scott, Alex Vesia, Edgardo Henriquez, Will Klein, and Jack Dreyer covering leverage. Colorado’s bullpen sits 26th at 4.92, with Seth Halvorsen on the IL and Jordan Romano newly added after a rough Angels stint. Juan Mejia and Victor Vodnik both carry elevated season ERAs, while Romano, Bernardino, and Vodnik have recent usage concerns. Weather gives the bats mild support. Dodger Stadium projects around 70-73 degrees, clear, with 9 mph wind out and no rain threat.

The best bet is Dodgers team total over 5.5 (-120), playable to -125. It attacks Freeland’s hits, homers, barrels, and Colorado’s bullpen without requiring Lauer to suppress a hot Rockies offense. The alternate angle is Dodgers team total over 6.5 (+120). That fits a Freeland exit before the sixth and another crooked inning against middle relief. Dodgers -1.5 (-119) is playable, but Colorado’s recent power makes it secondary. Pass on Dodgers ML -245 and full-game under 10.

Projected score: Dodgers 8, Rockies 4.

Best bet: Dodgers TT o5.5 runs (-120) vs. Rockies
