One of WWE’s most decorated superstars could be nearing the end of his run with the company.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Sheamus is currently expected to leave WWE when his existing contract expires. While there has been no official announcement from WWE or Sheamus himself, the report has quickly sparked speculation about the future of the former world champion.

Sapp reports the Sheamus rejected a restructured extension and will let his contract expire. We currently don’t know the exact date of when his contract will expire but that isn’t stopping fans of the 49-year-old wrestler speculate.

Few WWE superstars have put together a résumé as accomplished as Sheamus. Since making his main roster debut in 2009, “The Celtic Warrior” has captured the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships, won the 2010 King of the Ring tournament, claimed the 2012 Royal Rumble victory, and earned the Money in the Bank contract. Across more than 15 years with the company, Sheamus has established himself as one of WWE’s toughest and most respected performers, delivering memorable rivalries and critically acclaimed matches while building a career that makes him a strong future WWE Hall of Fame candidate. The only major accolade missing from his résumé is the Intercontinental Championship, which would complete the WWE Grand Slam.

However, there is currently no report linking Sheamus to AEW.
