New York outscored Cleveland 46-21 between the fourth quarter and overtime, and the Knicks won this game, 115-104. New York was a 6.5-point favorite for this tilt, but the club is now just a 5.5-point favorite for Game 2. After the impressive, comeback win, its surprising the Knicks aren’t favored by more and with all the momentum in their favor, New York should cover this line, possibly with ease. The Knicks lead the NBA in net rating during these playoffs, whereas the Cavaliers rank sixth. This season, New York is 3-1 SU vs. Cleveland and a league-best 31-15 ATS at home.
Donovan Mitchell U 27.5 Points (-107)
Mitchell scored 29 points in Game 1, but the Knicks figured out how to stop him late, with Mitchell only scoring three points between the fourth quarter and overtime. New York ranks second in defensive rating this postseason, and the club should hold Mitchell to a lower scoring outing tonight, especially with this game at Madison Square Garden. Mitchell is scoring 23.6 PPG on 43.6% shooting on the road during these playoffs, compared to 28.4 PPG on 48% shooting at home, and he has fallen short of 27.5 points in 6-of-8 road starts.
Karl-Anthony Towns O 4.5 Assists (-147)
Towns’ playmaking has been exceptional this postseason and this line is way too low for the center, particularly with a Cavaliers’ defense on the other side that ranks eighth in defensive rating during these playoffs. Towns finished five assists on seven potential assists in Game 1. During these playoffs, the big man is averaging 6.5 assists per game with a 30.9% assist rate, which is more than double the 14.7% rate he averaged in the regular season. The Knicks have won eight straight and Towns has dished out at least five assists in all of these victories, including three outings of 10 assists.
