Following a record triple-elimination in the sixth episode that sent home Kamilla Karthigesu, Genevieve Mushaluk and Colby Donaldson, Survivor 50 returned Wednesday night with the seventh installment of the show’s most anticipated season yet. Including spoilers for who was voted out, let’s break down Survivor 50 Episode 7: That’s Not How I Play Survivor.
Survivor 50 Episode 7 Recap
The Dragonslayer Returns
Episode 7 opened up back on the Manulevu beach, with the final 14 players (and potential jury members) officially set following a record triple-elimination last week. Aubry immediately caught some heat for “forgetting” to play her immunity idol at the prior tribal. In reality, it was a tactical decision. One that could help her survive another vote, but in the process put a massive target on her back.
Meanwhile, the Dragonslayer finally emerged, as Coach declared war on “all of these people”. The fireworks started the following morning, but were not initiated by Mr. Wade. Instead, it was Jonathan calling out Dee for lying to him in an attempt to rile her up. Coach then addressed the witnesses, stating that the ultimate winner of this season would have to play with honor… like him.
Coach began assembling his army against Dee, pulling Rizo into the “Four Horsemen Alliance”. While the self-proclaimed RIZGOD privately wasn’t impressed, he did add another valuable potential alliance to his myriad of options.
Next, Stephenie was randomly selected to go on a journey. To earn an advantage, she had to successfully outlast a draining pot of water in the classic tethered raised arm challenge. The Survivor veteran beat the water, claiming a steal-a-vote. Back at camp, she attempted to lie about the result, but Cirie picked up on it. After getting the truth out of Steph, she immediately informed Rizo. The two then pivoted to discussing a potential plan to blindside Dee due to her recent string of untrustworthy actions, putting the former winner firmly in the hot seat.
Revival of The Challenge Beast
In a fun twist, the tribe was split into two groups for a combined reward and immunity challenge. The winning squad of Christian, Emily, Joe, Dee, Ozzy, Stephenie and Devens in the first part of the challenge moved on to participate in the immunity portion. Ultimately, Ozzy outlasted his peers and secured safety at the upcoming vote.
The reward losers went to work. Coach and Jonathan continued to throw Dee under the bus, setting up a 7-4 split between her and Tiffany. Once the plan inevitably got out to those not driving it, Coach lost his mind and began barking out marching orders. Shockingly, people didn’t love that, resulting in his name being thrown out.
Heading into tribal council, two potential plans hung in the balance: the aforementioned split between Dee and Tiffany, and a Coach blindside. After a lot of scrambling and whispering in the most active tribal yet, the contestants finally voted. First, Dee played her shot in the dark… unsuccessfully. In the end, the Dragonslayer lived to fight another day. Dee was voted out, becoming the eleventh person sent home on Survivor 50 and first member of the jury.
