Miami OH RedHawks vs. Bowling Green Falcons prediction, pick for NCAAM on Friday 2/20/26

Millett Hall is getting a ranked, undefeated team on a Friday night, and the entire building knows what is sitting on the table. The Miami (OH) RedHawks are 26-0 and 13-0 in the Mid-American Conference, with a spotless 14-0 home sheet, and the number is still only -7.5 because the league knows Bowling Green can make games feel ugly. Millett Hall already saw the first meeting’s tone in reverse, when Miami went to Bowling Green and won 93-83, so this is not a mystery matchup. Now it’s the perfect-season posture game with a 154.5 total sitting in the middle, begging for either a track meet or a tug-of-war. Below is my preview, prediction, and pick for tonight’s college basketball game between the Miami OH RedHawks and the Bowling Green Falcons.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Miami OH vs. Bowling Green prediction, preview

The math says points, but it also says the shots have to be earned. Miami is putting up 92.3 per game on 53.5% from the field and 40.2% from three, with 10.7 made threes per night, and the assist base is real at 17.0 per game with only 10.7 turnovers. Their scoring is not a single trick either: 44.0 points in the paint, 18.0 at the line, and 32.2 from beyond the arc, which is three clean scoring lanes feeding each other. Bowling Green’s counters are exactly the ones that keep an underdog alive at this number: 81.9 per game, 48.1% shooting, 34.0% from three, and 73.6% at the stripe, plus a defense giving up 70.5 per game and 42.8% from the field. Miami’s ball movement and spacing against a Falcons defense that has been graded as one of the MAC’s best, with market notes tagging them as strong on the glass and stingy from deep.

The personnel explains why Miami keeps slipping out of traps instead of living in them. Peter Suder is the calm engine at 14.8 points, and he’s doing it on 56.5% shooting with 43.3% from three, which means closeouts become layups. Brant Byers sits right there at 14.7 a night and 41.7% from three, and Eian Elmer adds 11.9 with 43.1% from deep, so the floor never stops being wide. Then it turns into waves: Luke Skaljac at 10.0, Evan Ipsaro at 13.9 in limited games, and Antwone Woolfolk finishing possessions at 64.6% inside. Bowling Green’s threat is far more concentrated: Javontae Campbell is at 18.6 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.3 steals, which is exactly the profile that can steal five minutes of game flow and turn them into a run. Sam Towns (12.1 and 6.6 boards) gives them a second scorer who can also extend possessions, and Marcus Shackelford plus Mayar Wol give them real shooting volume to make the zone-to-transition script work.

Bowling Green vs. Miami OH pick, best bet

Bowling Green’s recent profile does show real defensive resistance—one game-notes stretch has the Falcons allowing just 59.0 points per game across their last four MAC contests while holding opponents to 38.4% shooting, which is exactly the kind of resistance that can slow tempo and threaten a mid-150s total. Miami (OH) also carries one vulnerability that keeps underdogs alive longer than expected: rebounding consistency, where league play has exposed occasional second-chance leakage. But the separation still points toward Miami because the turnover profile travels. Miami averages just 10.2 turnovers per game and is 19-0 when winning the giveaway battle, which is the cleanest indicator of a favorite capable of building margin without inviting volatility.

The context stack reinforces the same outcome. Millett Hall on a Friday night tends to accelerate early rhythm, and Miami’s offensive identity thrives in that environment—more than 10 made threes per game paired with roughly 17 assists nightly means spacing arrives immediately instead of developing slowly. Bowling Green’s best counter remains chaos creation, leading the MAC in fastbreak production at 18.1 transition points per game while leaning on defensive pressure to manufacture scoring runs. That pathway keeps the backdoor mathematically alive, but it also requires sustained disruption against one of the most turnover-clean offenses in Division I.

The best bet is Miami (OH) -7.5, playable to -8. Miami’s offensive floor—92.3 points per game on 53.5% shooting and 40.2% from three—creates too many stable scoring lanes to rely on a prolonged drought. Bowling Green’s competitiveness and defensive structure explain why the number sits under double digits, but Miami’s ball movement and efficiency profile are built to convert control into separation late.

Prediction: Miami (OH) 86, Bowling Green 74.

Best bet: Miami OH -7.5 (-120) vs. Bowling Green
