SG/SF, Kevin Huerter, Chicago Bulls vs. Los Angeles Lakers, $4,200
With Tre Jones (doubtful, hamstring) expected to miss his second straight game, Huerter is a strong punt play at only $4,200. With Jones out Saturday vs. the Celtics, Huerter logged 24.1 minutes off the bench, en route to 27 FPTS while shooting 5-of-7 from the field. This was the fourth game Huerter has played with Jones inactive this season. Huerter is amassing 21.6 FPTS in 25 minutes per game on those occasions.
Jones being absent opens up a few extra minutes of work for Huerter and he should see roughly 25 minutes again tonight vs. the Lakers, who rank 25th in defensive rating and are allowing the sixth-highest three-point percentage in the NBA this season (37.1%). Huerter is providing 0.93 FPTS per minute with Jones off the floor this season and over 25 FPTS is within reach for Huerter tonight, which would be the fifth time in his last eight that he has surpassed that threshold.
SF/PF, GG Jackson, Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets, $4,200
Jackson is on the heels of a 24 FPTS performance in 22 minutes vs. the Pelicans this past Friday. Ja Morant (elbow) and Santi Aldama (knee) both missed this game. Morant is expected to be out for a few weeks. While the Grizzlies have yet to release their injury report for Monday, Aldama feels likely to remain sidelined as well.
Jackson should receive 20-25 minutes off the bench and a high usage rate with both Morant and Aldama missing again. With these two players off the floor this season, Jackson’s usage rises 2.3 percentage points to 22% and he scores 1.0 FPTS per minute. The Rockets are a difficult matchup, ranking eighth in defensive rating, but Jackson’s $4,200 salary doesn’t reflect the role he is going to see tonight and should come with hardly any ownership in GPPs. In four of the last five games that Jackson has cracked the 20-minute mark, he has topped 20 FPTS.
