What happened to Devin Booker? Live injury updates for Suns vs. Hawks on Friday 1/23/26

With 5.4 seconds left in the third quarter of Friday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, Devin Booker was replaced by Dillon Brooks. As Booker was running back to the other side of the court, he stepped on the foot of Onyeka Okongwu and appeared to turn his ankle. Booker limped off the court gingerly and is now in the locker room.

Prior to exiting, Booker contributed 31 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in 28 minutes of action.

With Jalen Green also suffering an injury earlier in the game, the Suns are very thin in the backcourt. Collin Gillespie, Grayson Allen and Jordan Goodwin should all see more playing time and potential increases in usage rate with both Booker and Green out.

Phoenix next plays on Sunday, then again on Tuesday next week.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
