Check out my best bet and preview for tonight’s Main Event between Callum Walsh vs. Carlos Ocampo at Zuffa Boxing 01.
Callum Walsh by KO/TKO/DQ (-110)
Walsh possesses supreme power, winning five of his previous six fights by knockout. In September, Walsh defeated Fernando Vargas on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford card. That was Walsh’s first win by decison since November 2023. 10 of Walsh’s previous 11 victories have been via knockout.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Walsh is a big -750 favorite while Ocampo is the underdog at +500. Walsh is -110 to win by knockout and +130 by decision or technical decison. The total is set at 8.5 rounds, with the over at -125.
Ocampo is the veteran in this matchup, with more experience than Walsh and six years older. Since losing to Tim Tszyu in June 2023, Ocampo has won three consecutive contests by knockout. Also, on paper, Ocampo has the physical advantages, as he is taller (5’10.5″ vs. 5’9″) and has a larger standing reach (73″ vs. 71.5″).
But the difference maker in this fight is Walsh’s versatile skill set, which has faced tougher competition recently. Ocampo’s last two wins came against Ricardo Cernas, who is 18-14-1 and beat Luis Enrique Montelongo Morales (18-13) before that. The last time Ocampo fought undefeated opponents (Tim Tsztu and Sebastian Fundora), he came up short. Walsh should be able to wear Ocampo down throughout this fight with his quickness and power, leading to a knockout.
