UPDATE: Williams won’t return to tonight’s game due to thigh soreness.
Jalen Williams injured his hamstring midway through the second quarter of Saturday’s game against the Miami Heat.
Williams’ status is uncertain, but he limped off the floor to the locker room after asking to be subbed out. It’s unclear how severe the injury is at this moment.
Prior to the injury, Williams had been playing well. He had eight points, three rebounds and three assists while shooting 3-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from distance in 14 minutes. He was second on the team in scoring before his exit.
Williams already missed time this year due to a wrist injury, so another extended absence would be tough for the Thunder. Nonetheless, Oklahoma City played historically well even with its All-Star wing sidelined.
