The 23-15 Houston Rockets host the 27-14 Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET. This is the first matchup between Houston and Minnesota this season. The Timberwolves have won six of their previous seven games while the Rockets are 2-5 in that span.
Here are my favorite prop bets for tonight’s Rockets-Timberwolves contest. The Rockets are -4.5, while the Minnesota Timberwolves are +150 to win this game on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Kevin Durant Over 24.5 Points (-124)
Kevin Durant is averaging 25.9 points per game this season, but his average in January has increased to 27.4 points per game over eight contests. Durant has scored at least 25 points in five of his previous seven games.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, you can get Durant to record over 24.5 points at -124. Durant has scored 26-plus points in three of his last four games against Minnesota. Durant hasn’t had two straight games with under 25 points since December 25.
Amen Thompson Over 18.5 Points (-109)
This season, Amen Thompson has emerged as a star for the Rockets and is having his best year as a pro. Thompson is averaging 18.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game. He is averaging a career high in points and assists this season.
Each month this season, Thompson has increased his scoring average, and in January, he is averaging 21.9 points. Although he only scored 13 points against the Thunder last night, Thompson totaled at least 19 points in his previous four contests before that. Thompson has also recorded over 18.5 points in 13 of his last 20 games. Getting Thompson at -109 to score over 18.5 points against the Timberwolves is an excellent play with the consistency he has shown this season.
Julius Randle Over 6.5 Rebounds (-127)
Julius Randle is averaging 7.1 rebounds per game this season, but that average has increased to 7.9 in 2026. Randle totaled eight rebounds in back-to-back games and four of his last five contests.
Since Randle’s scoring has been up and down each night, it is best to back him in the rebounding department. Randle has also hit this mark in nine of his last 15 contests. Randle’s over/under in rebounds is set at 6.5 with the over being -127.
