Anthony Davis has landed back on the injury report for the Dallas Mavericks. The 10-time All-Star has been diagnosed with a minor groin strain and is set to miss a few games.
Davis has suited up for 16 games this season. He is averaging 20.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists across 29.9 minutes per game. He left the Christmas Day matchup against the Warriors in the second quarter while attempting to get out on a fast break. Davis was limited to three points, three rebounds, two blocks, and a steal in his 11 minutes of action.
The Mavericks hold a 12-20 record on the season, which slots them in 11th place in the Western Conference. Dallas is 7-5 in its last 12 games and has shown some signs of progress. The Western Conference is loaded and Davis will be a name to monitor as the trade market begins to establish itself. Another injury does not help this possibility, but it is a positive that Davis will not miss an extended period of time.
