Friday night at the Kaesya Center in Miami, Florida, “The Problem Child” Jake Paul is back to face former Heavyweight Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Anthony Joshua. This event will air live on Netflix and is the platform’s fourth boxing card.
People want to compare Jake Paul to being as big or a larger underdog than Buster Douglas was against Mike Tyson in 1990. That isn’t true. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Paul is a +650 underdog with Joshua being a -1000 favorite. Jake Paul is the ultimate underdog. He has been proving everyone wrong throughout his boxing journey, and if anyone can pull off the upset, it is The Problem Child.
At first glance, you have a two-time champion and Olympic Gold Medalist against an influencer turned professional boxer. But that doesn’t tell the entire story. That is because Joshua is coming off a devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois and hasn’t fought since that September 2024 contest.
Paul has a 12-1 record with seven knockouts in his boxing career and has won six consecutive contests since his lone loss. In his last fight in June, Paul beat former Middleweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Paul has competed between 185 and 200 pounds, with his lone Heavyweight fight coming against Mike Tyson in November 2024. On Thursday, Paul weighed in at 216.4 pounds while Joshua hit the scale at 243.4.
This card also features four women’s title fights, as Jake Paul has made it a priority to showcase elite women’s fights on all of his past boxing cards. Alycia Baumgardner is defending her Super Featherweight titles against Leila Beaudoin in the co-main event. Baumgardner is 16-1 and hasn’t suffered a loss since 2018, while Beaudoin is 13-1 and is currently on a four-fight winning streak. The champion is a -1400 favorite with Beaudoin being the +750 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Two former UFC Champions, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, are facing off in the second fight on this card. Silva and Woodley are fighting in a six-round 195-pound Cruiserweight contest. Silva is the favorite at -275 with Woodley being +210. Silva is 3-2 in boxing, while Woodley is 0-2 in the sport. Both fighters have a familiar opponent in Paul, whom Woodley lost to twice in 2021, while Silva came up short against him in his last bout in 2022.
