The MLB is back with a jam-packed 16-game slate for Saturday, April 20. The Chicago Cubs and Miami Marlins are playing a doubleheader after being rained out on Thursday. With every team in action, weather permitting, there is a plethora of options for player prop bets. With that in mind, here are our best MLB player prop bets for Saturday’s schedule, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Teddy Ricketson’s 2024 MLB Player Prop record: 18-22-3. It’s been a rough week this week. Jordan Montgomery pitched six innings Friday but only struck out three. Mookie Betts went 0-4 in the leadoff spot. Nevertheless, we go back to researching and looking for the best matchups and lines.
MLB player prop bets: Saturday, April 20
Marcus Semien over 0.5 singles (-120)
Semien led off game one of the series on Friday with a home run and added a single later in the game. He will take on Atlanta Braves starter Charlie Morton, who he has gone 9-24 against in his career. Seven of the hits were singles, and Semien has at least one single in four of his last five games.
DL Hall over 4.5 hits allowed (-165)
Hall will start his fourth game of the season on Saturday. The Milwaukee Brewers southpaw has allowed at least six hits in each of his starts so far this season and heads into Saturday’s game with an 0-1 record and 7.11 ERA. St. Louis tallied five hits in Friday’s loss, and four came off starter Freddy Peralta, who has had a better season than Hall to this point.
Ronel Blanco under 5.5 hits allowed (-170)
This will be Blanco’s third start since his no-hitter on April 1. Since then, he made back-to-back starts against the Texas Rangers. Blanco allowed one hit in the first game and then five in the second, pitching six innings in each. Since he has allowed a combined six hits in 21 innings of work against better teams this season, I think Blanco should allow fewer than six hits to the Washington Nationals on Saturday.
Elias Diaz over 0.5 hits (-260)
Diaz and the Colorado Rockies will take on Luis Castillo and the Seattle Mariners on Saturday. Castillo has gotten rocked this season and will enter this game with a 0-4 record and a 5.83 ERA. Diaz has a small sample size against him (3-8, HR), but is riding a three-game hit streak and has a hit in 10 of his last 11 games. He should pick up at least one base knock on Saturday.
