BREAK IT DOWN:

(stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)

1) Christian McCaffrey Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-380): McCaffrey faces his former team for the first time since being traded to San Francisco, and while he’s made it clear there’s no revenge angle, you have to imagine CMC will be running with a little extra gas in the tank. The Stanford product is coming off a three-touchdown performance against division rival Arizona, bringing his season total to 11 — four of which have come through the air. Against a Panthers defense sitting middle-of-the-pack in passing yards allowed per game (218), McCaffrey should find plenty of room to work underneath as a receiving option for Brock Purdy against Carolina’s zone-heavy scheme. Looking at recent trends, CMC has scored two or more touchdowns in three of the 49ers’ last four games against NFC opponents.

2) George Kittle Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+115): The Niners are more than happy to have their star tight end back in the lineup after he missed five games with a hamstring injury suffered in Week 1. While his yardage totals haven’t exactly jumped off the page, Kittle has found the end zone three times in his five games since returning from injured reserve and has been a model of efficiency, catching every target in each of his last three outings (4/4, 9/9, 6/6). The Panthers, meanwhile, have been bleeding production to opposing tight ends, allowing 2.11 yards per route run, which is the worst mark in the league. Give Kittle some open space to rack up YAC or a couple of red zone looks — he ranks top-five among tight ends in red zone targets this season — and the public will be right to back him tonight.

3) Rico Dowdle Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-145): Rico Dowdle might be one of the biggest surprises in football this season. The former Cowboy has absolutely shredded defenses since taking on a larger role in Carolina, averaging 5.0 yards per carry with three games over 130 rushing yards — two of those eclipsing 200 total yards from scrimmage. Dowdle brings a physical, downhill running style complemented by impressive burst through the second level, making him a tough tackle once he gets north-south. While he’s been quieter on the ground the past two weeks, posting 53 and 45 rushing yards respectively, he’s still maintained a key role in Carolina’s offense. The South Carolina alum has recorded 86+ rushing yards in four of his last six road appearances against NFC opponents and has found the end zone early, scoring the first touchdown in two of the Panthers’ last three games. He’s also been increasingly active as a pass-catcher, hauling in five of seven targets for 55 receiving yards in Week 11. Facing a 49ers defense that just gave up 488 total yards to Arizona, Monday’s matchup feels like a strong bounce-back spot for Dowdle to reassert himself as a dual-threat playmaker.
