RB Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks: Fantasy Football Running Backs to Start or Sit in Week 11

Heading into Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season, workloads, snap shares and more trends have been established across the league’s backfields. The fantasy RB landscape hasn’t played out as expected due to injuries, leaving fantasy managers with plenty of tough decisions to make. With that in mind, let’s break down my fantasy football RB start/sit Week 11 picks.

Check out my full Week 11 start/sit article with picks at each position here!

Start ‘Em: David Montgomery (Detroit Lions) at Philadelphia Eagles

Montgomery’s fantasy output tends to come down to if he can find the end zone. In the four games the veteran has scored this season, he’s eclipsed the double-digit fantasy point mark every time. In the five contests he has failed to score, he’s hit the 10-point mark just once. Now, to Montgomery’s credit, that one contest was last week against the Commanders, in which he racked up 15 carries for 71 yards.

After we saw a virtual 1a-1b approach with the Lions backfield over the last few years, Jahmyr Gibbs has finally stepped into a psuedo-bellcow role. That said, when Montgomery gets his chances, he makes the most of them. The 28-year-old is averaging a very impressive 4.5 yards per carry and does consistently see double-digit touches.

So, with all of that in mind, some fantasy managers may be nervous about an impending matchup with the Eagles this week. They shouldn’t be.

This is not the Philly defense we’ve seen in years past, especially on the ground. The Eagles definitively rank in the bottom-half of the league in rushing yards allowed and fantasy points surrendered to RBs. I expect Montgomery to find the end zone, but even if he doesn’t, the veteran holds RB2 value.

Sit ‘Em: Chiefs Running Backs at Denver Broncos

Ah yes, the incredibly specific selection of “Chiefs Running Back”. At the time of this article’s publication, Isiah Pacheco’s status is up in the air. Heading into the week, Kansas City’s starter was expected to return from the knee injury he suffered against Washington back in Week 8. However, Pacheco did not practice Wednesday, and is trending towards another missed contest. If he’s somehow able to suit up, he shouldn’t be anywhere near starting lineups.

So, with Pacheco likely out of the picture, the attention turns to Kareem Hunt. The veteran has filled in nicely over the last two games, amassing at least 12 fantasy points in each contest. However, that production can mostly be chalked up to the pair of touchdowns he scored over that span.

This week, the matchup may be too tough to overcome. Denver boasts one of the best run defenses in the league, allowing the fourth-fewest rushing yards and fifth-fewest fantasy points to RBs per game. A touchdown could salvage Hunt’s fantasy day, but it’s hard to take that risk.

Start ‘Em: Woody Marks (Houston Texans) at Tennessee Titans

Marks’ workload has fluctuated throughout the season due to the resurgence of Nick Chubb and game script, but he’s finally starting to carve out a consistent role. The rookie has earned double-digit touches in four straight outings, racking up 12-plus fantasy points in three of those games.

In Houston’ Week 10 comeback against the Jaguars, Marks took his 16 touches for 81 total yards and a touchdown, averaging an impressive 4.5 yards per carry. The USC product has flashed elite potential while operating within one of the NFL’s worst offenses, making his recent fantasy floor all the more impressive.

This week, Marks should keep the momentum rolling against a Titans defense that allows the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs. Fire Woody up as a high-end RB2.

Sit ‘Em: Kenneth Walker III (Seattle Seahawks) at Los Angeles Rams

Notice a trend developing here? Spoiler: Jaxon Smith-Njigba is not my sit of the week at wide receiver. There are limits to my madness. That said, a lot of signs are pointing towards Seattle’s red-hot offense coming to a screeching halt against arguably the best team in football. Hence, the Walker III and Darnold “sit” selections. If you’re considering starting Zach Charbonnet, I would avoid him as well.

Walker III’s start percentage across most fantasy leagues was well over 50% last week, mostly due to his workload within one of the NFL’s best offenses. Unfortunately, the production doesn’t match the usage in this case. After a strong start to the season, Walker has failed to eclipse the double-digit point mark in five straight outings, despite receiving at least 11 touches in every contest.

That’s not a promising sign as Seattle gears up for a duel with the Rams. Sean McVay’s squad is allowing the fewest fantasy points to running backs, putting Walker III firmly in sit territory on Sunday.
