Teddy Ricketson’s 2024 MLB Player Prop record: 22-25-3, Tuesday: 1-2. Grayson Rodriguez got shelled by the Angels on Tuesday and didn’t come close to his out total. Jurickson Profar came to the plate five times — including in the top of the ninth inning with two outs — but went hitless.
MLB player prop bets: Wednesday, April 24
Reynaldo Lopez, over 15.5 outs recorded (-135)
Rodriguez sold on Tuesday, but I’m giving it another try with another pitcher outs prop. Atlanta starter Max Fried threw a complete game shutout on Tuesday and Lopez has been the Braves’ best starter to this point of the season. He is a converted reliever but has thrown at least 82 pitches in six innings of work in each of his three starts so far this season. Lopez would need to pitch 5.1 innings for this prop to cash.
Garrett Crochet, 6+ strikeouts (-235)
Crochet’s strikeout line for the game is 6.5 at +100, so this pick is sacrificing odds so that you’re covered if he finishes with six. His conversion to a starter has been a rough road, but that can be said about most of the 3-20 Chicago White Sox. Crochet allowed seven earned in three innings to the Philadelphia Phillies his last time out but has 34 strikeouts over 25.2 innings. In the team’s loss on Tuesday, Chicago starter Erick Fedde struck out 11, so Crochet should be able to get to at least six.
Michael Busch, over 0.5 hits (-150)
Busch did go hitless on Tuesday, but that dropped his average only to .292 on the season. He has the second-highest batting average on the team, behind only Seiya Suzuki. The Chicago Cubs will face Houston Astros starter Spencer Arrighetti (0-2, 11.57 ERA), who is making his third career start. Busch should come away with at least one hit on Wednesday.
