Tonight, AEW makes its debut at the legendary 2300 Arena, and we will see the fallout from Forbidden Door. Sunday night’s PPV ended with the Death Riders on the attack, and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon, as Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli are in action tonight on AEW Dynamite.
Check out my predictions for all three announced matches and a few questions leading into tonight’s AEW Dynamite.
AEW Dynamite (8/27) Full Card and Predictions
Men’s Singles Match
Jon Moxley vs. Daniel Garcia
Although Jon Moxley and The Death Riders came up short at Forbidden Door, they closed the show by injuring Will Ospreay. The Death Riders have suffered losses at the previous two PPVs but have returned with a vengeance on the following Dynamite. No match has been announced as the Main Event, but this one has a good chance of being it. Daniel Garcia needs a victory, but it would be shocking if Moxley lost again since he will have the Death Riders by his side.
Prediction: Jon Moxley defeats Daniel Garcia.
Falls Count Anywhere Match
Darby Allin vs. Claudio Castagnoli
At Forbidden Door, Darby Allin wrestled his first match in eight months. Tonight is Allin’s first singles match since December, and he will have a tough challenge with the hard-hitting veteran Claudio Castagnoli. Although there is a chance The Death Riders get involved in this contest as well, Allin likely escapes this match with a victory.
Prediction: Darby Allin defeats Claudio Castagnoli.
Women’s Tag Team Match
Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford vs. Harley Cameron & Kris Statlander
This is Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford’s sixth tag team match, competing alongside each other. They are 3-2 in those matchups but haven’t won a tag team match since May. Meanwhile, Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander will team together for the first time in tag team action. With Cameron and Statlander losing at Forbidden Door, they are due for a big win.
Prediction: Harley Cameron & Kris Statlander defeat Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford
All-Star 8-Man Tag Team Match
Brodido & JetSpeed vs. The Don Callis Family
A new match has been announced for tonight’s AEW Dynamite: an eight-man tag team match between Brodido and JetSpeed vs. the Don Callis Family. Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander, Hechicero, and Kazuchika Okada are representing the Don Callis Family tonight. Brodido and JetSpeed have been two of the fastest-rising tag teams in AEW, and another big victory could be huge for them.
Prediction: Brodido & JetSpeed defeat the Don Callis Family.
Questions after AEW Forbidden Door
Who will be “Hangman” Adam Page’s next challenger?
“Hangman” Adam Page beat MJF at Forbidden Door, but doesn’t have a clear challenger up next. Since MJF didn’t use his contract on Sunday, could we see him use it in the near future? If Darby Allin can mount together a few victories, he could be an option as well.
Will Christian Cage and Adam Copeland fully get on the same page?
Although Christian Cage and Adam Copeland teamed together for the first time in 14 years at Forbidden Door, they still don’t seem to be entirely on the same page. Since FTR lost their recent title opportunity, it could be the perfect time for Copeland to get his revenge on his former friends.
What is next for the Don Callis family after the addition of Wardlow?
Wardlow made a shocking return at Forbidden Door, aligning himself with Don Callis. The Don Callis family is already stacked with a plethora of talent, but Wardlow is a perfect fit to be the muscle for Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita, and Kazuchika Okada, among others.
