It was all but a guarantee, but now it’s officially official — Caitlin Clark will have her own signature sneaker with Nike.

Joining the likes of Sabrina Ionescu and A’ja Wilson, Clark is Nike’s “newest signature athlete, expanding the brand’s partnership with one of the most watched, impactful and passionate players in the game.”

“Nike’s signature roster features all-time greats, and I am incredibly proud to join some of the best athletes in the world,” Clark said in a press release on Nike’s newsroom site. “I’m excited to share a first look at what we’ve started to create together.”

Nike says that Clark will “continue to work side-by-side with experts across the brand to help shape the future of basketball — fueling hoops culture, growing the women’s game and empowering the next generation to reach their dreams.” The brand also introduced Clark’s signature logo, which I actually think is quite good. For some reason, it gives me 1990s vibes, which is a definite positive, at least for this oldhead. Nike says Clark worked closely with Nike designers to come up with a logo that felt timeless and resonant. Of the logo, the release states:

Two interwoven Cs reflect Caitlin’s magnetic connection with fans around the globe who are drawn to her unwavering confidence, steadfast commitment and remarkable shooting ability. Tucked between the larger letters is a smaller, hidden C that represents how Caitlin’s game was built from the inside out — a product of her passion for the sport, relentless drive and constant pursuit of perfection.

Clark said the logo is a “dream come true” and teased that her first signature shoe and apparel collection will debut in 2026.

Nike said in its release that a navy and yellow Caitlin Clark logo T-shirt will be available on September 1 in North America, while te rest of her logo apparel collection will launch on October 1.

Clark already had a Kobe 5 Protro PE release earlier this year and is expected to have a Kobe 6 Protro PE release in the fall. It’s fair to wonder why it will take until Clark’s third WNBA season for her to get her own shoe, but I guess this will be a case of better late than never. Clark’s college and WNBA rival, Angel Reese, will see her debut sneaker with Reebok release on September 18 in three colorways for a retail price of $120.

If the shoe can meet the performance standards of Ionescu’s line and the hype of Wilson’s A’one, then Nike will have a hit on its hands. Nike has been in something of an innovation rut of late, but there’s no doubt interest will be high in Clark’s debut signature sneaker.
