The first fight of the ninth season of Dana White’s Contender Series is between Christopher Ewert and Yuri Panferov in a Middleweight bout. Panferov will make his second appearance on this show after losing to Torrez Finney on Season 7 of DWCS in October 2023. Since then, he has won two straight fights by knockout but hasn’t fought in the last nine months. Ewert has an undefeated 7-0 record, and last competed in January.

Here is my best bet for Christopher Ewert vs. Yuri Panferov taking place tonight on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Fight Not to Go the Distance (-130)

With Panferov losing his last fight on DWCS, he will likely come out more aggressive than he did against Finney. Most fighters do not receive another opportunity on this stage if they fail to earn a contract in their first two appearances.

Panferov is 8-1 in his MMA career and has never been to a decision. Pairing that with Ewert’s extreme knockout power, you can get this fight not to go the distance at -130 on DraftKings Sportsbook. On this show, the fighters know that they not only need to win, but they also need to win impressively to impress Dana White.

This fight is the first of three 185-pound bouts on tonight’s card. With six middleweights competing on the same event, more pressure will be on each one of them to produce an extraordinary performance.
