Getting late in the day here on Sunday, and we’ve got but the evening and Sunday Night Baseball games left to go. So far I’ve written up the Angels vs. Nationals, and Diamondbacks vs. Marlins games for this evening, and will have a Twins vs. Tigers one in due time. Having said that, here are my three favorite baseball bets today based on my game predictions and previews.

Angels (-130) vs. Nationals
The Los Angeles Angels are poised to take the rubber match at home after splitting two high-scoring games against the Nationals. Los Angeles hits left-handed pitching extremely well, posting a .774 OPS and 114 wRC+ over the last 10 days versus southpaws. That’s bad news for Nationals rookie lefty Mitchell Parker, who has a 5-8 record, a 4.59 ERA, and an expected ERA north of 5.30. He struggles to finish hitters, with just a 32% strikeout rate when ahead in the count, and has posted a bloated 5.70 ERA on the road. The Angels’ righty-heavy lineup is primed to capitalize early and often. Jack Kochanowicz starts for Los Angeles and has had his share of struggles, but the Angels’ power and bullpen edges give them the upper hand. The Angels rank second in MLB with 124 home runs, with Jo Adell blasting five homers in the last 10 games and Taylor Ward up to 20 bombs on the year. The Nationals’ bullpen owns a 5.70 ERA of late and consistently leaks runs in the late innings. The Nationals’ offense erupted for 15 runs in the series opener, but they remain just 28th in power rankings. With the Angels’ bats heating up and greater urgency in the AL West, backing Los Angeles to win at -130 is the sharp play.
Diamondbacks vs. Marlins o8.5 total runs (-120)
The first two games of this series produced 17 and 15 runs respectively, and both bullpens are worn down. Eduardo Rodríguez and Cal Quantrill have combined for a 10.96 ERA this season and neither inspires confidence. Arizona boasts the third-best scoring offense at 5.2 runs per game and leads the league in doubles, while Miami is hitting .309 over the past week and riding a 7-1 run in their last eight games. Both bullpens rank near the bottom in ERA, and trends scream offense — the over is 9-3 in Arizona’s last 12 games and 4-0 in Miami’s last four. With hot bats, hitter-friendly conditions, and suspect arms on both sides, this sets up for another high-scoring affair.
Tigers -1.5 (-130) at Twins
The Tigers -1.5 run line is the bet against the Twins. Tarik Skubal has been lights out, going 9-0 with a 1.87 ERA and 0.80 WHIP over his last nine starts. He’s 7-0 with a 2.30 ERA at Comerica this season and dominates Twins hitters, holding them to a .125 average in past meetings. Chris Paddack, meanwhile, owns a 4.64 ERA and has allowed 18 runs in his last three starts, struggling on the road with a 5.48 ERA. Detroit’s offense is surging, averaging 6.5 runs over the past week and blasting four homers in Saturday’s 10-5 win. The Tigers have won nine of Skubal’s starts by multiple runs and should do so again. Back Detroit -1.5 for another comfortable victory.
