Rocket Classic: Tracking the Leaderboard after Second Round

After Thursday’s first round of the Rocket Classic, the field was looking up at two golfers. Kevin Roy ($7,000; 63 FPTS) and Aldrich Potgieter ($7,000; 73.5 FPTS) both went -10 (62) to start the tournament.

Roy went -1 (71) on Friday with two bogeys and a birdie on the front nine followed by two birdies on the back nine. Roy is -11 for the tournament and currently T8.

Potgieter shot -2 (70) on Friday with a birdie on the front nine with two bogeys and three birdies on the back nine. Potgieter is -12 for the tournament and T5.

In the $800K Summer Sand Trap tournament, Roy is rostered on 2.17% of teams while Potgieter is on 3.93%.

DraftKings Sportsbook had Roy at +1100 to win it all, the third-best odds, while Potgieter was at +900, the second-best after Thursday. Roy is now +4000 while Potgieter is +1800.

Max Greyserman ($9,100; 62 FPTS) was the favorite at +700 after Thursday. He is now +1800 after shooting a -2 (70) on Friday.

Greyserman had two birdies on the front nine, then finished the round with bogey, birdie, birdie and bogey. He is now -11 for the tournament and T8 heading into the weekend.

Greyserman is rostered on 15.09% of teams.

The current leaders are: Chris Kirk ($7,500; 95 FPTS), Philip Knowles ($6,000; 101 FPTS) and Andrew Putnam ($7,100; 93 FPTS), who are all -14 for the tournament.

Kirk went -7 (65) on Thursday. He replicated the feat on Friday. Kirk birdied the first three holes of the day then closed out the front nine with two more birdies. On the back nine, he birdied the first and last holes but had two bogeys and two birdies in between. Kirk is rostered on 7.95% of teams and is currently the favorite to win it all at +650.

Knowles shot a -6 (66) on Thursday. He then went -8 (64) on Friday. The front nine consisted of two bogeys, two birdies and an eagle. The back nine had a birdie and two more eagles. Knowles is rostered on only 0.03% of teams and is +4000 to win it all.

Putnam went -8 (64) on Thursday. He followed that up with a -6 (66) on Friday. The front nine consisted of three birdies and an eagle. The back nine had one birdie. Putnam is rostered on 2.75% of teams and is +900 to win it all, the third-best odds.

The most-rostered golfer is Ben Griffin ($9,800; 64 FPTS) at 32.2%. He shot a -6 (66) on Thursday and went -5 (67) on Friday. The front nine had two birdies, a bogey and an eagle. The back nine had two birdies. Griffin is -11 for the tournament and currently T8. He is +1100 to win it all, the fourth-best odds.

There are three other golfers rostered on at least 20% of teams: Patrick Cantlay ($10,200; 41 FPTS), Cameron Young ($9,300; 41 FPTS) and Collin Morikawa ($10,900; 70 FPTS).

Cantlay is rostered on 26.51% of teams. Cantlay shot a -6 (66) on Thursday then went E (72) on Friday. He racked up a birdie on the second hole of the round, but closed out the front nine with a bogey and a double-bogey. On the back nine, he got two strokes back with birdies on Holes 16 and 17. Cantlay is currently T64 and just made the cut for the weekend. He is +20000 to win it all.

Young is rostered on 25.64% of teams. Young shot a -4 (68) on Thursday and a -3 (69) on Friday. He racked up a bogey and two birdies on the front nine, then produced three birdies and a bogey on the back nine. Young is -7 for the tournament and T49. He is +15000 to win it all.

Morikawa is rostered on 21.03% of teams. Morikawa shot a -3 (69) then went -8 (64) on Friday. He birdied the first three holes of the round then closed out the front nine with an eagle. On the back nine, he racked up three more birdies for the unblemished round. Morikawa is -11 for the tournament and T8. He is +850 to win it all, the second-best odds.

Jake Knapp ($7,300; 61.5 FPTS) is rostered on 11.01% of teams and blistered the course on Friday with a -11 (61), a course record.

Knapp drained three birdies and an eagle on the front nine. The back nine had six birdies. After shooting an E (72) on Thursday, Knapp is currently -11 for the tournament and T8. He is +2800 to win it all.

The cutline is -6.

Here are the golfers rostered on at least 10% of teams who will not be playing over the weekend:

Keith Mitchell ($8,800; 31 FPTS) is rostered on 13.41% of teams. He went -1 (71) on Thursday but followed that up with a +6 (78) on Friday. The day did not start off well as he bogeyed three of the first four holes of the round. He then closed out the front nine with a birdie, bogey and double-bogey. On the back nine, Mitchell had two double-bogeys sandwiched around a four-hole birdie streak. Mitchell finished +5 for the tournament.

Alex Smalley ($8,000; 27.5 FPTS) is rostered on 11.75% of teams. He shot an E (72) on Thursday. On Friday, he was one stroke worse. Smalley racked up two bogeys and a birdie on the front nine. On the back nine, he had two bogeys and two birdies. He finished +1 for the tournament.

Rickie Fowler ($8,700; 36.5 FPTS) is rostered on 12.47% of teams. Fowler shot a -1 (71) on Thursday. He replicated the feat on Friday. The front nine consisted of two bogeys and three birdies. The back nine had a bogey and a birdie. Fowler finished the tournament -2.

Stephan Jaeger ($7,700; 31 FPTS) is rostered on 18.08% of teams. He shot a -2 (70) on Thursday. On Friday, he went E (72). The front nine had a bogey and two birdies. The back nine consisted of two bogeys and a birdie. Jaeger finished the tournament -2.

Alex Noren ($7,800; 31.5 FPTS) is rostered on 11.25% of teams. He went -1 (71) on Thursday, then followed that up with a -2 (70) on Friday. Noren racked up a birdie on the front nine and two birdies on the back nine before a bogey on the final hole. He finished the tournament -3.

Wyndham Clark ($8,600; 40 FPTS) is rostered on 14.6% of teams. He shot a -6 (66) on Thursday, then followed that up with a +2 (74) on Friday. The front nine consisted of a double-bogey, bogey and birdie. The back nine had a bogey and two birdies. Clark finished the tournament -4.
