After going into Cleveland and taking the first two games, the Indiana Pacers had a chance to put a stranglehold on the series with a win at home in Game 3. Cleveland showed resolve, though, as Donovan Mitchell went for 43 points while the Cavaliers dominated on the glass, 56-37, with 18 of those offensive rebounds.
The Pacers thought that display was cute, then proceeded to restore order in Game 4 on Sunday.
Indiana raced out to a 38-23 lead after one quarter, then put the game away with a 42-16 second quarter.
The final score was 129-109.
The Pacers shot 52.7 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. They had 37 assists, 58 points in the paint and turned the ball over only 11 times.
Due to the blowout, only one player received 30 minutes of action: Andrew Nembhard ($5,900; 27.75 FPTS) finished with seven points, four rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
Three Pacers scored at least 20 points: Pascal Siakam ($6,500; 35.5 FPTS), Myles Turner ($6,200; 34.75 FPTS), and Obi Toppin ($3,600; 29.75 FPTS).
Siakam finished with 21 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal in only 21 minutes. Turner contributed 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes. Toppin put up 20 points, five rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes.
T. J. McConnell ($3,800; 29.5 FPTS) had 13 points, two rebounds, eight assists and a steal in only 18 minutes.
Tyrese Haliburton ($8,800; 24.25 FPTS) finished with seven points, two rebounds, eight assists and three steals in 26 minutes.
For Cleveland, Darius Garland ($6,700; 32.25 FPTS) led the way with 21 points, a rebound, six assists and a steal in 26 minutes.
Donovan Mitchell ($9,500; 16.75 FPTS) put up 12 points, a rebound, a steal and a block in only 16 minutes. He did not play in the second half due to an ankle injury.
Evan Mobley ($7,500; 18.25 FPTS) put up only 10 points, five rebounds and a steal in 27 minutes.
Game 5 is on Tuesday in Cleveland.
