The 2024 NFL Draft kicks off the first round festivities from Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday, April 25. The remaining six rounds will take place over Friday and Saturday, and the newly-drafted rookies will pack up their lives and head to minicamp the following week. How much will the new draftees be earning in the 2024 season?
What will the salary be for first-round picks in the 2024 NFL Draft?
Salaries differ for rookies depending on their draft selection — the first pick in the draft will make more than any of his peers over the next four years, signing a four-year contract that sums to $38.5 million (including a signing bonus of nearly $25 million). The signing bonuses are the big difference-maker in early draft picks.
The gross amount decreases significantly through the first round, with the 32nd pick of the draft signing a four-year contract worth around $12 million, but the first overall pick’s non-bonus contract is only worth around $13.5 million. Each of the top five picks this year are expected to sign contracts worth over $30 million.
After the first round, the changes are not as drastic, with early second rounders signing contracts just under $10 million and late seventh-rounders signing for a number close to $4 million over four years. The base salary for rookies this year is $795,000.
