On The GM Shuffle, Dave Ross and Geoff Schwartz break down the biggest 2025 NFL Draft prop bets, from position totals to first-round surprises.
One of the biggest prop bets heading into this year’s draft is the number of offensive linemen that will be selected in the first round, with the total set at 6.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook. Schwartz isn’t high on that number. As he put it, three offensive linemen are going in the first round no matter what: Will Campbell, Kelvin Banks Jr. and Armand Membou. Schwartz also has Josh Conerly Jr. going in the first round as well, along with Grey Zabel. In addition to those five, Tyler Booker could jump up into the first round. Schwartz said he also views Josh Simmons as a potential first-round pick, but views the tipping point as being reached if the Chiefs select an offensive lineman at 31. For the record, Schwartz is taking the under on the prop.
Switching over to the defensive side of the ball, the highest total position group to get selected in the first round lies with the defensive linemen/edges, with the number set at 8.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook. Schwartz explained that he has been preaching for weeks that the Chiefs should draft a defensive lineman to complement Chris Jones. To Schwartz’s point, the Chiefs have young offensive linemen that they have to play. Further, Schwartz believes that Abdul Carter, Mykel Williams, Mike Green and Shemar Stewart will all get drafted in the first round. He also added that Mason Graham and Derrick Harmon should be in that first-round group as well. Walter Nolen could potentially make eight, and even though that 8.5 number seems high, teams are desperate for pass rushers.
They guys then moved over to the running back position, where the total is set at 2.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. When examining the draft order, many project two running backs to be selected in the first round with Ashton Jeanty going to the Raiders at 6 and Omarion Hampton to the Broncos at 20. Schwartz stressed that if you like a third running back to be selected, it would have to be at 21 for the Steelers. Another total set at 2.5 is for the wide receiver position. Schwartz mentioned that it is a down year for wide receivers, as the needs of teams are not typically focused on wide outs. Schwartz predicts that Tetairoa McMillan and Matthew Golden will be the first two receivers off the board, with Emeka Egbuka to follow. Moreover, Schwartz points to teams like the Seahawks, who select at 18, the Chargers at 22 and the Broncos if Hampton is off the board as potential teams that can take a third wide receiver.
