The Sweet Sixteen begins on Thursday! Four mathcups with the chance to go to a Regional Final are on the line. No. 6 BYU faces No. 2 Alabama in the first game in the East region at 7:09 p.m. ET, while No. 4 Maryland looks to upset No. 1 Florida at 7:39 p.m. ET. The two games to finish Thursday’s slate are No. 1 Duke vs. No. 4 Arizona and No. 10 Arkansas vs. No. 3 Texas Tech. Walter Clayton Jr. 20+ Points (-120)
This season, Walter Clayton Jr. has been one of the best guards in the country, and he continues to elevate his game as the moment gets bigger. Clayton is averaging 17.9 points per game this season, but has totaled at least 22 points in the last four games and six of the previous seven.
You can get Clayton to score 20 or more points against Maryland at -120 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Clayton has been one of the most consistent scorers this season, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. He is shooting it over 28 percent on three-pointers this season, but has stepped it up a notch lately. Clayton has made at least four three-pointers in five of the last six games. If he continues to hit threes at this rate, surpassing 20 points against Maryland should be doable.
Tobe Awaka 8+ Rebounds (-105)
Even though he only played 22 minutes against Oregon in the second round, Tobe Awaka was the second most important player for the Wildcats. Considering how he has rebounded the ball lately, getting Awaka to record 8+ boards against Duke is an excellent play.
Awaka has totaled eight or more rebounds in three straight games. He has also hit this mark eight times in the previous 11 contests. Awaka has reached a total of 19 of the 36 games he has played in this season. In Arizona’s first matchup with Duke on November 22, Awaka only finished with three rebounds. But he only played 12 minutes in that game, and his role has grown exponentially since then.
JT Toppin 10+ Rebounds (-120)
Texas Tech has had a great season this year, led by dominant big man JT Toppin. He is averaging 18.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest. He went off for 25 points and 12 boards against No. 11 Drake in the tournament’s second round. Toppin has had 10 or more boards in 10 of his last 13 games. You can get him to hit that mark again against Arkansas at -120 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Arkansas has an elite group of guards, but Texas Tech has the advantage in the frontcourt. Toppin will be going up against Jonas Aidoo, who only averages 4.9 rebounds per game. This is an excellent matchup for Toppin, and another elite rebounding performance should be in his future.
