Three must-start fantasy basketball players for Monday 3/24/25 NBA slate

DraftKings’ main slate for Monday includes the first six games of the night. Below, I dive into three of my favorite DFS options to consider for tonight’s NBA action.

Set your DraftKings fantasy basketball lineups here: NBA $300K Floor General [$100K to 1st]

PG/SF, Josh Giddey, Chicago Bulls at Denver Nuggets, $9,100

Giddey has been brilliant recently and is must-play against the Nuggets, who rank seventh in pace, 21st in defensive rating, and are playing their second game in two nights. Giddey is on the heels of a 73 FPTS triple-double vs. the Lakers on Saturday, and he is scoring 55.6 FPTS per game in his 11 starts since the All-Star break. During this timeframe, Giddey is handling a 23.7% usage rate, and he is leading the Bulls with a huge 40.5% assist percentage.

Tonight’s matchup with Denver carries the highest total on the slate at 238.5 points and the Nuggets are only favored by three points on DraftKings Sportsbook. This is without question the best game on the slate to target and Giddey should produce at least 50 FPTS in this elite setting.

SF/PF, Justin Edwards, Philadelphia 76ers at New Orleans Pelicans, $5,000

Edwards continues to be underpriced for his current role for the tanking 76ers and is a core play for this slate. Last night, the veteran posted 34.75 FPTS across 39 minutes vs. the Hawks, which marks Edwards’ fourth straight performance of over 30 FPTS. As a starter during this span, Edwards is leading Philadelphia with 36.8 minutes per game, and he has garnered a 20.6% usage rate.

Shooting wise, Edwards has been outstanding, shooting 50% from the field and 48.1% from beyond on the arc. Edwards is knocking down 3.3 three pointers per game in these last four and this Pelicans defense he is facing Monday is allowing the most made three pointers in the NBA this season. New Orleans ranks dead last in defensive rating and Edwards should cruise past five-times value tonight.

SF/PF, Cameron Johnson, Brooklyn Nets vs. Dallas Mavericks, $7,000

Everything is aligning for Johnson to have a great showing Monday. First off, this is a terrific matchup vs. the Mavericks, who rank 27th in defensive rating since the All-Star break. Plus, Cam Thomas (hamstring) and D’Angelo Russell (ankle) are out for the Nets, leaving Johnson in a featured role. In the 17 starts the forward has made without both Thomas and Russell this season, Johnson is amassing 36.3 FPTS per game with a team-high 26.3% usage rate.

To put a cherry on top, Johnson will be at home tonight, where he is scoring 3.3 FPTS per game more than when on the road this season. Johnson has 40 FPTS upside tonight and is a strong target for all formats.
