Data Golf has the projected cutline of -1 at 87.8%. Here are the golfers rostered on at least 10% of teams in the $2.25M Fantasy Golf Millionaire tournament that won’t be playing over the weekend:
Doug Ghim ($5,600; 23.5 FPTS) is rostered on 10.54% of teams. He shot an even-par on Thursday but had two bogeys and a double-bogey on the Friday’s front nine. Ghim got two back with birdies on holes two and four on the back nine, but he bogeyed the final two holes and missed the cut by five strokes.
Ludvig Aberg ($10,200; 21 FPTS) is rostered on 25.24% of teams. There are five golfers rostered on more than 20% of teams. He finished Thursday -1. On Friday, he birdied hole three but then racked up a double-bogey on the next hole. On the back nine, he double-bogeyed the first hole, then notched two birdies right after, but then had another double-bogey to finish the day +3, missing the cut by four strokes.
Hideki Matsuyama ($9,900; 15 FPTS) is rostered on 17% of teams. Matsuyama finished +2 on Thursday. Friday’s round was much better, shooting a -2. He had three birdies and two bogeys on the front nine, then racked up two birdies and a bogey on the back nine. Unfortunately, the even-par after two days wasn’t enough to make the weekend, as he missed the cut by just one stroke.
Michael Kim ($5,900; 12 FPTS) is rostered on 23.24% of teams. He shot a +3 on Thursday. Friday’s round began ominously, with a bogey on the first hole. Kim bounced back, though, with two birdies on the front nine then two more birdies to start the back nine. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to make up ground the rest of the way, with a birdie and bogey to finish -3 for the day. He missed the cut by one stroke.
As for those climbing the leaderboard, the story of the day has to be:
Justin Thomas ($10,100; 11.5 FPTS) is rostered on 17.46% of teams and shot a +6 on Thursday. Data Golf had him sub-20% to make the cut. On Friday, Thomas lit up the golf course with five birdies on the front nine, then six birdies on the back nine, with a four-birdie streak on holes 11, 12, 13 and 14. The only blemish was a bogey on hole 18.
There are two golfers tied for the lead heading into the weekend at -11.
Min Woo Lee ($8,000; 81.5 FPTS) is rostered on 2.98% of teams. Lee was great on Thursday, shooting a -5 with only one bogey on the day. Friday’s round was better at -6. Lee had three birdies on the front nine, then drained four on the back nine, with a three-birdie streak on holes three, four, and five. The only blemish was a bogey on the final hole of the day.
Akshay Bhatia ($7,000; 84.5 FPTS) is rostered on 7.53% of teams. Bhatia also shot a -5 on Thursday. Unlike Lee, his round was error-free. On Friday, Bhatia remained unblemished with four birdies on the front nine. The back nine was different story, though, as he racked up two bogeys, but he also drained four birdies to finish the day -6.
DK Sportsbook currently has Bhatia at +600 to win it all, the third-lowest odds. Lee is right below at +700.
The current favorite is Rory McIlroy ($11,500; 65.5 FPTS) at +360. McIlroy is two shots off the lead.
