Just four games between eight teams are set to tip off on Tuesday across the NBA. The clear-cut matchup of the day is a playoff rematch between the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers. Even on a small slate, there’s plenty of ways to get in on the action with DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball selections before tonight’s contests!
Alex Sarr more than 1.5 three-pointers made
The Wizards haven’t had much go right for them this season, but there’s reason for optimism in D.C. Rookie Alex Sarr, drafted second overall during last summer’s NBA Draft, has begun to emerge as a consistent offensive contributor. Over the center’s last six games, he’s averaged 14.7 points in less than 28 minutes of play. On a Washington squad without anything to play for, the Frenchman should continue to demand a sizeable workload.
Sarr, for all his skills, has struggled as a shooter. This season, the 19-year-old has connected on just 38.9% of his field goal attempts. However, he’s begun to turn things around as of late, especially from deep. The center has hit at least two three-pointers in four of his last six appearances. That should continue tonight against the Pistons. Opponents have shot 36.8% from deep against Detroit this season, the seventh-worst mark in basketball. Look for Sarr to make a big impact from beyond the arc in this one.
Ty Jerome less than 11.5 points
There’s plenty of star power in Cleveland, but don’t overlook one of the NBA’s best bench units. On a Cavs team filled with depth, Ty Jerome has made a name for himself. This season, the guard has put up 11.9 points and 3.3 assists in just under 20 minutes per game. Most impressive has been Jerome’s efficiency, shooting 50.4% from the field (43.8 3PT%).
Right now, the 27-year-old is one of the association’s best ‘microwave scorers’, capable of heating up at any time. That makes Cleveland’s sixth man a threat against any team, let alone a tanking Nets squad. However, the team has played league-average defense this season, allowing the 15th-most points per game (112.8). In three matchups with Brooklyn this season, Jerome has failed to score more than eight points. It’s difficult to see that trend changing tonight.
Cade Cunningham more than 14.5 assists + rebounds
Cade Cunningham’s all-around excellence isn’t anything new. The former first overall pick has been a stat-stuffing monster since entering the league four years ago. This season, the guard has stepped up as a leader, carrying Detroit to the Eastern Conference’s sixth-best record. The first-time All-Star has recorded 25.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game in the process.
What makes Cade such an asset for fantasy basketball managers is his ability to produce without scoring. That gives the 23-year-old even more value heading into tonight’s matchup against the NBA’s worst defense. This season, the Wizards have allowed the most rebounds (56.7) and the sixth-most assists (28.5) per game to opponents. Cunningham has hit at least 15 assists + rebounds in each of his previous three meetings with Washington. Barring an early blowout, Detroit’s franchise cornerstone has a good chance at hitting this total once more.
Damian Lillard less than 6.5 assists
Following a rough first season in Milwaukee, Damien Lillard has reminded everyone that he’s still one of basketball’s best players. The guard has been an absolute force this season, playing the role of co-star behind Giannis Antetokounmpo. Through 53 games, he’s averaged 25.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and a team-leading 7.1 assists.
With that being said, Dame isn’t the most reliable player to back. As good as the future Hall of Famer can be, he’s also prone to the occasional letdown game. The guard has struggled lately as a passer, failing to dish out more than six assists in each of his last seven appearances. The Pacers have given up 26.7 assists per game to opponents, 15th in basketball. That’s not nearly enough to suggest Lillard will snap his cold streak on Tuesday.
Bogdan Bogdanovic more than 2.5 assists
The Clippers made a move to bolster their bench at the trade deadline, acquiring Bogdan Bogdanovic from the Hawks. It’s been a tough season for the 32-year-old, who has produced just 10.5 points per game. The main culprit for the Serbian’s statistical decline? A career-worst 38.8% field goal percentage (31.2 3PT%). That number has risen over 12 games with the Clippers, but only to a still-mediocre 41.9%.
Rather than backing Bogi as a shooter, his other skills could come into play tonight. Los Angeles will visit a terrible Pelicans team on Tuesday, in what should be an advantageous matchup. This season, New Orleans has allowed 29.0 assists per game to opponents, third-most in the association. In eight of his 12 games with the Clippers, Bogdanovic has recorded at least three assists. There’s no reason to assume that can’t continue tonight against one of basketball’s worst defenses.
Yves Missi less than 7.5 rebounds
We’ll stay in the bayou, where Pelicans fans have little to be excited about. One of the lone bright spots for New Orleans has been the play of rookie Yves Missi. The second-round pick, serving as the team’s starting center for most of the season, hasn’t disappointed. Through 62 games, the big man has posted 8.8 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 54.4% from the field.
As talented as Missi is, he’ll have to be at his best going into tonight’s matchup. Th Clippers are an elite defensive unit, allowing the fifth-fewest points per game in the NBA (107.8). Los Angeles has been especially great on the glass, with opponents grabbing the third-fewest rebounds per game in basketball (50.0). Missi has failed to reach eight boards in five of his last six contests. Against one of the sport’s stingiest teams, that’s likely to be the case once again on Tuesday.
