Scheffler, McIlroy, and Koepka each have short individual odds to win the PGA. Scheffler is coming off a Masters win and has won four of his last five, Koepka is the defending champion and has won three PGA Championships, and McIlroy won his last two events and was the winner at Valhalla in 2014. Winning margin by 2 strokes exactly +350
Six of the last seven PGA Championships have been won by two strokes exactly, with the seventh going into a playoff. While there’s always the chance of a runaway win by Scheffler as we saw at the Masters, the bad weather forecasted in Louisville this week should do some work to even out the field and keep it interesting heading into Sunday.
Scheffler to be in final group in R4 +250
This practically feels like a lock. Scheffler has won four of his last five tournaments, and he finished second in the fifth. He ran away with the title at the Masters, winning by four strokes, and is expected to be very much in the running heading into Sunday. He finished T2 in last year’s PGA Championship, as well, and is on Grand Slam watch heading into the summer.
And given the rainy forecast this week, the final group on Sunday could be a threesome, improving the odds for Scheffler to wrap up the round.
Koepka to finish with lowest score of LIV golfers +300
Koepka has flourished at the PGA Championship throughout his career, winning the Wanamaker Trophy three times and finishing as a runner-up once in the last six years. After Jon Rahm’s disastrous +9 performance at the Masters, Koepka seems to be in the perfect position to finish the tournament with the best score of any LIV golfer.
