The NBA tips off March with a six-game slate on DraftKings this Saturday night. The early matinee featuring the Wizards and Hornets is not on the main slate, but 10 teams are on the board for what should be a fun night of DFS fantasy basketball. The Nets, Pistons and Grizzlies are finishing back-to-back sets of games on Saturday night, while the Spurs are the only team that has another game scheduled for Sunday. Golden State Warriors at Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers won’t have Joel Embiid (knee) for the rest of the season and Eric Gordon (wrist) is out for multiple months as well. In their visit to Philly, the Warriors should have a good matchup and could have extra usage available if Jimmy Butler ($7,400; back, questionable) is out as well. Even though Butler is a nice fit with the Warriors, he struggled in his last few games. He managed just 11 points in those two contests, possibly due to his back issue.
Core Plays: It’s the Warriors, so Stephen Curry ($8,900) is always the place to start. He is coming off a massive 56-point game against the Magic on Thursday that earned him 73.5 fantasy points. He has over 47 fantasy points in seven of his last 10 games and will likely get even more work if Butler is out. Brandin Podziemski ($6,000) has also stepped up lately with at least 28 DraftKings points in four of his last five games and eight of his last 10 while averaging 32.8 fantasy points per contest. Draymond Green ($5,800) has also been solid with his usual multi-category production.
Value Options: If Butler is out, Moses Moody ($4,300) and Buddy Hield ($3,800) would be interesting value plays. Quinten Post ($3,600) had a huge game against the Magic on Thursday as well, finishing with 18 points and 30.75 fantasy points. He started the second half and would be a great value play if he gets the start against Philadelphia on Saturday.
Detroit Pistons vs. Brooklyn Nets
The Pistons’ eight-game winning streak came to an end against the Nuggets on Friday, but they’ll look to bounce back in this favorable home matchup against the Nets, who are also finishing a back-to-back. Detroit appears to be relatively healthy, but double-check the injury report when it comes out for the team later in the day.
Core Plays: It’s actually a tough matchup for Cade Cunningham ($10,100), since the Nets do a good job limiting point guards, but Cunningham can still be the centerpiece of a stack since he has been that good this season. He went just 3-for-12 on Friday with 25.25 fantasy points in 28 minutes, so he should be relatively rested. Jalen Duren ($6,400) also played limited minutes and will look to resume his strong play from when the Pistons were reeling off those wins.
Value Options: Ausar Thompson ($5,100) has become a key part of the Pistons’ lineup and is a great value play that comes with both a high floor and a high ceiling. He had 13 points, four rebounds, five assists, five steals and 35 fantasy points against the Nuggets and has at least 24 DraftKings points in 12 straight games with 30+ fantasy points in seven of his last 10. Tim Hardaway Jr. ($3,900) and Dennis Schroder ($3,900) are both solid plays in the backcourt for under $4,000, with Schroder getting a bit of a boost for a potential revenge narrative. Isaiah Stewart ($3,200) is almost always a value play that brings solid production in limited minutes.
San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies play at the fastest pace in the NBA this season and have allowed the third-most points per game in the NBA over their last seven games. As the Spurs continue to adjust their rotation without Victor Wembanyama (shoulder), there is still usage and opportunity available for players to step up.
Core Plays: De’Aaron Fox ($8,700) has struggled his last few games but still should get high usage in this up-tempo contest. Stephon Castle ($5,900) has been very boom-or-bust with back-to-back games under five points before exploding for 22 points and 44.75 DraftKings points against the Rockets on Wednesday. With Charles Bassey (knee) out, Bismack Biyombo ($5,200) will continue to start at center and had 27 and 35.5 fantasy points last week in back-to-back games against the Pelicans.
Value Options: Keldon Johnson ($4,700) has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of Wemby’s available usage. He had 22 points and 32.75 fantasy points against the Rockets in his last game and has posted at least 24 fantasy points in four of his five games since the All-Star break. Julian Champagnie ($4,200) has also brought boom-or-bust production on the wing. This pace-up spot with extra possessions gives the Spurs very high ceilings, although their recent struggles since losing Wemby do make them high-risk.
