Ludvig Aberg ($9,800; 125.5 FPTS) won the Genesis Invitational as the fifth-highest priced golfer, and he had the sixth-lowest odds heading into the tournament on DK Sportsbook at +2200. After Thursday’s first round, Aberg was T7, six strokes off the lead after shooting a two-over 74.
Aberg must’ve caught some good z’s Thursday night because he scorched the course for a six-under 66, tied for the lowest round on Friday. He racked up five birdies and an eagle with the lone blemish a bogey on Hole 4.
On Saturday, Aberg went two-under 70 with four birdies, an eagle and four bogeys. That was tied for the fourth-lowest round of the day.
For Sunday’s final round, things started off well, as Aberg birdied two of the first three holes. Unfortunately, he gave them right back with two bogeys. He closed out the front nine with two more birdies. On the back nine, he was clean with a three-hole birdie streak on Holes 13, 14 and 15, then put the finishing touches on his second career PGA Tour victory with a birdie on Hole 18.
Aberg finished the tournament 12-under, one stroke better than Maverick McNealy ($7,800; 108.5 FPTS).
In the $1M Sand Trap Special tournament, Aberg was rostered on 13.46 percent of teams.
