For the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, the NBA has implemented a new format. There will be four teams of eight players competing, with three of the teams consisting of the players who were named All-Stars and the fourth being the winning squad from the 2025 Castrol Rising Stars Game, which includes rookies, sophomores and players from the G-League. That team is named Candace’s Rising Stars and will face Shaq’s OGs in the semifinals, while Kenny’s Young Stars will face Chuck’s Global Stars in the other semifinal game. The winners of these two semifinal matchups will then go head-to-head in the championship game to crown a winning team. These contests are a first-to-40-points wins format and for DraftKings’ DFS slate, players will only accrue FPTS for the semifinal games. Below, I dive into three of my favorite NBA DFS value plays to consider for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.

PG/SG, Anthony Edwards, Kenny’s Young Stars vs. Chuck’s Global Stars, $5,900
Kenny’s Young Stars features many first-time All-Stars and Edwards has the most All-Star experience of his team, with this being his third All-Star selection. Edwards should operate as this squad’s top option and as a result, lead the team in usage and playing time.
The shooting guard carries the best first basket odds for this semifinal matchup at +550 on DraftKings Sportsbook, which is a strong indicator that the oddsmakers agree that Edwards will be his team’s alpha. His $5,900 salary is simply too low for his expected role, as this makes him only the 11th-most expensive player on the slate, and Edwards is a terrific target for this All-Star game. This season, Edwards is scoring 1.3 FPTS per minute with a 32.4% usage rate.
PG, Stephen Curry, Shaq’s OGs vs. Candace’s Rising Stars, $5,300
Curry has a long history of putting on a show at the All-Star Game. The sharpshooter is averaging 21.8 PPG in the nine All-Star games he has competed in, including a 50-point showing in 2022. Just last season, Curry posted 16 points, eight assists and five rebounds while finishing second for the West All-Stars in shot attempts. As one of the leading fan vote-getters, Curry will once again be an All-Star starter this season and as always at this event, the three-point specialist should see a ton of volume, especially with this All-Star game taking place at Curry’s home arena in the Chase Center.
Curry is producing 1.3 FPTS per minute this season and he is a strong bet to exceed five-times value against this inexperienced Candace’s Rising Stars team.
PG/SG, Stephon Castle, Candace’s Rising Stars vs. Shaq’s OGs, $3,800
Castle has had an eventful weekend. After leading his team to a championship at the Rising Stars Challenge and being named the MVP of the event Friday, Castle nearly won the Slam Dunk Contest over dunking guru Mac McClung on Saturday, who won his third consecutive dunk contest in a row, making him the only player in history to reach this feat.
Now, Castle will face Shaq’s OGs in the semifinals of the All-Star Game. Castle should be oozing with confidence and the MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge should absolutely continue to be his team’s featured player. In his team’s championship win Friday, which was a first-to-25-points wins format, Castle led his team with 12 points, to go along with three rebounds and two assists. In this showing, the rookie knocked down five of his eight shots, while no other player on Castle’s team attempted more than five field goals. The San Antonio Spur should once again lead his team in usage and while Castle is likely to be chalky at only $3,800, he is a must-play at this cheap salary and good chalk to embrace for this All-Star slate. Furthermore, attacking Castle for 10+ points at an appealing +275 price on DraftKings Sportsbook has a ton of merit Sunday.
