The UFC will bring a Fight Night card to the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, this Saturday, February 22. Former UFC Flyweight and Bantamweight Champion No. 7 Henry “Triple C” Cejudo returns for the first time in a year. He will face No. 8 Song Yadong in a five-round Main Event bout.
Cejudo is one of the best combat sports athletes of all time. He is a two-division champion and an Olympic Gold Medalist. But lately, Cejudo hasn’t looked like his former self. He has lost two fights in a row and has not won a contest since he beat Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in May 2020. But before that, Triple C won six fights in a row with four knockouts. As great of a wrestler as he is, Cejudo’s striking has been a difference-maker for him in the UFC.
If Cejudo wants to go on one more run at a title shot, he will need to get back on track in a big way against Yadong. Even though he has lost two fights in a row, both were to the last two bantamweight champions, Aljamain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvilli. Yadong is also coming off a loss but is the betting favorite of -258, as Cejudo is +210. Once again, Cejudo is the smaller fighter in this bout; Yadong has a four-inch edge in height (5’8″ vs. 5’4″) and a three-inch advantage in reach (67″ vs. 64″).
Another future Hall-of-Famer, Cruz, was slated to fight No. 9 Rob Font in the co-main event, but after suffering a second shoulder injury in the last year, he decided to retire. Font stayed on this card and will face Jean Matsumoto, who is 16-0 in his MMA career and 2-0 in the UFC. Font is coming off a victory against Kyler Phillips in October 2024. Matsumoto is the favorite in this bout at -162, while Font is a +136 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook.
The co-main event features a top-15 matchup between No. 9 Brendan Allen and No. 12 Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez. Allen recently had his seven-fight win streak snapped against Nassourdine Imavov in September 2024. Hernandez is on a six-fight win streak and has finished each of his previous four opponents. Even though Allen has the higher ranking, he is a +270 underdog, with Hernandez at -340.
