Bam Adebayo Injury Update: February 13 vs. Mavericks

UPDATE: Adebayo has been ruled out.

Bam Adebayo has been listed as questionable with a knee injury for Thursday’s game vs. the Mavericks. Duncan Robinson is probable with an illness after missing one game and both Terry Rozier and Andrew Wiggins are out with illnesses.

This is the Heat’s second game in two nights and their final game before the All-Star break. Adebayo has only missed one game this season.

Adebayo is averaging 16.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. The center is handling a 23.1 percent usage rate and if Adebayo sits, Kel’el Ware will operate as the Heat’s main big man. In the lone game Adebayo missed this season, Ware posted a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double across 32 minutes against the Clippers (41.75 FPTS).

Also, if Adebayo joins Rozier and Wiggins on the inactive list, Tyler Herro will be forced into a massive role as the Heat’s undisputed top option with Jimmy Butler out of town. In the 179 minutes Herro has played with Adebayo, Butler, Rozier and Wiggins off the floor this season, Herro’s usage has risen 2.9 percentage points to 30 percent, and he has scored 1.3 FPTS per minute.

The Heat lost by 11 points to the Clippers in the only game Adebayo has missed this season, but Miami is facing a shorthanded Mavericks team that could be without Kyrie Irving (questionable, shoulder). The Heat are a 1.5-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook.
